Lucid dreams, astral projection and whatnot

I lucid dream most of the time and used to get sleep paralysis a lot as well but for some reason that seems to have stopped. I don’t personally think it’s some big mystical thing. Like pretty much everything some people can some people can’t, who cares

I get sleep paralysis, I hate it. It had started years back and I would get it quite frequently, then it stopped for a good few years. It returned 2 weeks ago. I know when I will get it aswell, it's like I get this weird anxious feeling just before nodding off

I used to get it so regularly that it stopped becoming scary and it just became a chore. I found if I tried rolling myself side to side it eventually stopped 😂

I got that sleep paralysis a lot back in my early to mid teens, [didn't know there was a name for it back then] never told anybody about what I was going through, all I know is that is was [poor language removed] terrifying being essentially glued to the bed facing upward desperately trying to open my eyes or move a body part, the work of the devil I tell you...

Who here is big in to dreaming, remembering them, being aware of them in real-time, controlling them and generally enjoying them?
One thing that makes me instantly tune out is when people try to tell me their previous night’s dreams.

“Guess what my dream was last night”?

“Don’t care, it was a dream, not real”.

Nothing is 'real'. Fellas kicking a football about on a pitch to try and gain 3 imaginary points is all fake. It's all impermanent and inherently empty.

Dreams are just as valid or invalid as any other topic of conversation - someone has experienced it, so it is just as 'real' as anything else.

Everybody's perception is their own reality. That is a simple fact. We all see colours everyday from objects that are not actually that colour, it is just the way it absorbs/refracts light. Most of us have known people with dementia or other mental illness. Their reality is not ours but it is totally real to them. What we call reality is what the majority experience, but it does not mean those that have another perception are not living within it.

I can sleep fairly easily for a full 8 hours but pretty much any dream I can remember is similar - things going wrong at work. Any kind of fun dream almost always takes a turn towards humiliation or failure.

My dream state is like Rimmer from Red Dwarf playing Better Than Life.
