….but you always strive for better than you have. Gray has been excellent but his consistency and form over a period of time is a bit of an unknown. Diaz looks like he could be a bit special and on a different level.

Good shout as always @Eggs Unfortunately for whatever reason Gray has shown flashes of this type of form at other clubs but hasn’t kicked. It’s interesting that he’s being pushed very hard by benetiz to improve further. Maybe that hasn’t been the case under previous managers.

Although I’ve was initially underwhelmed like many by the arrivals of Gray and Townsend, Benetiz is no fool. He’s obviously looked at our team from last year and seen a team devoid of pace and workrate. This is why the likes of James (much to my disappointment) and Gomes will be seen as surplus to requirements as they don’t have the workrate he demands. Maitland Niles and Diaz offer the pace and workrate he demands.
