Lukaku - Love affair over ?

Because he scored more PL goals for us than any other player?

If you like playing top trumps and using top scorer stats of bragging rights then fair enough. I like lineker when he was here cos I was only 10 years old and liked goal scorers.

Even if it wasn't down to his constant disrespect of our our club I'd have still found it hard to like him because all he ever really offered us was a finish.... his overall game was detrimental to us. His goal stats papered over a very poor footballer.

He's exactly what we're crying out for right now

He was well liked by his colleagues

I doubt he'd "pollute" the dressing room

There's no doubt he has a massive ego. He might be a nice lad but professionally he definitely disrupts an overall team when he mouths off.

This 'injury' is Lukakus last chance I think. The goals only disguise so much and he's been ruthlessly found out at this level. I think it's too late for him but there's an outside chance he matures his game, otherwise he is destined to be an also ran, picked up by clubs looking purely for goals to sneak into a Europa League spot behind the club's with proper ambition.

He´s been bad before but never this bad. Against Juventus he looked like a fan who´d won a prize. Scared to even dare to go near their box in case a chance fell to him. Logic dictates he´ll come back and score a lot because he usually does but whether that´s enough to persuade the United hierarchy he is the way forward is open for debate.

Any evidence on this? ok maybe he was or maybe he wasnt, prob best for us to stick for what we do know, which is basically what we see and hear from him, and that tells us all we need to know about Lukaku and how lucky we were to get such a silly fee for him

What? a 17stone 4 goal striker with the touch of an elephant.

No I'll stick to the fluid one touch football we are seeing with Richarlison getting 6 goals in 7 games from various positions across the front line.

Imagine lukaku scoring either of Richarlisons 2? He'd have been offside for the first and too lazy and thick to anticipate the pass from donk to Duffy.

Don't miss him in the slightest. We've effectively swapped lukaku for Gylfi and Richarlison...... that to me is top business. United would struggle to get £40m for him now.

Yeah I recall seeing all his teammates wish him well at United..... actually no I don't.

It's more telling the fact that nearly all our players blanked him when playing against him the last 2 ganes. No pleasantries like you usually see.

He was disliked.

I know he and Bolasie were mates, but that's it. I don't know if he was friends with Lookman or the Senegalese two. I think he used to be mates with Niasse, but not sure (I know this sounds racist, but I do get the impression that within the squad, the black players tend to hang out with each other, same with the Spanish/Latin American ones, although they adopted Besic). Looking at his instagram, some of his old Everton team mates still follow him, albeit the likes of Barkley and Funes Mori who've left now (just Macca, Schneiderlin and Lookman out of the current squad). Interestingly, a lot of the current squad still follow Barkley - Davies, Jags, Kenny, Gueye, etc.

I wonder if there is any bad blood. We'll never know.

Did any of our squad wish Barkley well when he joined Chelsea? I honestly can't remember.
