Lukaku to Spurs

Basically if us and spurs are both in the europa league next season, I don't see why Lukaku would want to go to Spurs. I presume we have the money to buy him, and if he's already settled at Everton why go to a different team?

If Van [Poor language removed] leaves Utd, it wouldn`t surprise me if old ginger bollocks trys his luck, ok no CL next season but
Lukaku would be a mug to down them down.

Seems a little odd that the agent has come out with this, agents don't normally talk to the press.

"We're talking to a few interested clubs" is usually agent-talk for "We've been talking to one club that we're interested in but they need to offer more money"

It will be a huge coup if we do get him, the biggest signing I can remember.

Certainly the biggest since probably Kanchelskis, it would be a real statement. Having him, Barkely, Stones, McCarthy and Coleman at the club on long contracts would show real desire.

In my opinion that would be the backbone of a real championship team and I'd absolutely love to see them all develop under Martinez over the next 3-4 years.

It is a shame about Benteke. Besides the obvious of him not playing in the WC, I think this further puts the importance on RM to make a move for Lukaku early. Nothing like a good WC to add a few million to the valuation. Leading Belgium's front line is definitely a big opportunity to impress.

I'd love to get him on a permanent deal but if it can't be done it can't be done! Get the feeling other clubs will be in for him which will only drive the price up. Not to mention the fact of what the WC could do to his price.

Chelsea will want a buy back clause in there of that I'm sure! Maybe they will even keep him if he's happy to rotate...which tbf he should considering his age, he's not the finished product!

IMO we could take Remy or bony and over the next 2-3 seasons they would score and be as affective as Rom.

Didn't Levy say that Spurs wouldn't be splashing the cash this summer, earlier this week? Also understood from a few 'itk' posters on here that our wage structure didn't really differ from the one at Spurs, but it was just the transferfees that Spurs were able to pay? Personally think we have a very good change of securing Lukaku on a perm, if Chelsea really decide to sell.

No resale value though... Even if we only had Lukaku for 3-4 seasons he wouldnt even be 25. top 20 goal per season strikers u25 easy 50mil +. Thats why its worth paying more for Lukaku, because he'll make the money we spend back and isnt a depreciating asset unlike most players in their prime. Chelsea would be dumb to sell, so if we get him then I'm going to be buzzing. He's only 20 remember, yet he's still scored 15+ in the prem in the last two seasons. 20-25mil is a bargain for what he will become
