That trio looks solid...
Really is up to him now. In our favour - he hasn't long on his contract and seemed unloved at Chelsea. His celebration with Martinez was a joy to watch. Against - his pricetag. I would guess at 22 mil but that could change especially if we get top 4. Whatever happens Martinez has proven to get the best iut of the players. Even Distin and Howard, 2 stallwarts under Moyes, have improved their games. Onwards and upwards blues
Catch 22 isn't it? Pity his pre December period didn't fire us in to the champs league position so he could practice his Jelavic-flop and drive the price tag down now.
Hopefully Chelsea won't be overly arsed squeezing every penny out of the deal. Shifting Mata and a couple of their strikers off the books around the same period should make things rosey from the Fifa Fair Play perspective. 20-25m seems like a fair price for him
You are basing this on what exactly? I suspect Chelsea will be getting shot of Eto, Torres and Ba this summer and i can't see them going buying a full strike force when they already have one of Europes best young talents and a proven PL striker on their books.
He seems an ambitious young lad and given the chance to be challenging on all fronts for the team he has supported as a boy, with arguably the worlds best manager - if Mourinho says he wants him to stay, I think he just might. I've every faith he could kick on and be Chelsea's number one striker, or certainly offer strong competition to a Cavani or Costa as it may be.
Of course, all this is feutile unless we get 4th and give him a question to answer. And it depends also on Chelsea's asking price which is by no means fixed, and the demand for him, which may well be high too. I would love him to stay of course but there are a number of factors which pose a barrier to it.
Chelsea will ask £35m for Lukaku
Hate to say I told you so, but that is the price I have been quoting for months!
Good result for you lot against West Ham today btw
Yeah but the same article has Glen Johnson as right back of the year.....even though their "manager of the year" has such faith in him that he has not decided to extend Johnson's contract yet.Chelsea will ask £35m for Lukaku

I've no doubt he loves the club but given the opportunity, I'm sure he'd jump at the chance to go back to Chelsea. They are in desperate need of striking opportunities and Rom would be a great addition, just depends if Mourinho sees him fitting and can reassure him as much. Jose is known to prefer a front three with a strong centre forward, ala Drogba, Balotelli and Rom is certainly in that mould.
I continue to be astounded by your wit, lid.
