An astonishingly good goalscorer; an astonishingly bad footballer. Its not hard to understand - he'll score you 20 a season minimum but cost you games against good opposition due to his limitations.

This has been proven beyond doubt. My "vendetta" isn't against Lukaku; its against those who massively overrated goal output. Lee Trundle would have scored a few for Man Utd in his prime but actually signing him would have been insane - Lukaku is an upmarket variant of the same principle.

There's a reason he's at the Premier League rejects club in a league a hop, skip and a jump away in quality from the SPL. It's because no top club with any brain whatsoever would give him a second look. There's a reason for that and it's my dearest wish that people would bloody understand why that is ffs

It’s the reason in ranking strikers I gave him a B grade. Lack of finesse, heavy touch at times, not the best finisher, and too bulky (reminds me of Frank Bruno who also carried too much muscle (weight) in the ring). Rom was sweating bucketloads tonight as he always does.

In ranking Ronaldo the best striker of the modern era (well since Pele), the contrast between him and Rom could be seen in one moment tonight. Rom, one on one, misses, while Ronaldo, in an Inter jersey, also in a UEFA Cup final, does what he does...3:52

You could compare thousands of strikers from any era and youd be hard pressed to find one as clinical as Ronaldo was.

Hardly a fair comparison

In one on one moments, any top player should be laughing to be within 15 yards of goal and only the keeper to beat. I don’t want to slight the man as it may come across as bitter to some because of the history with us but Lukaku is light years away from the talent of Ronaldo.
