Lukaku would be a good start.

I see no reason why we can't at least compete over the coming seasons. I've seen enough in the last 12 months to tell me we're headed in the right direction.

Mate, Name a club in the last 20 years who has won the Prem without spending vast amounts of money

Blackburn,Chelsea,Arsenal,Utd and City are the only teams to win the league since 92 and all of them have spent a fortune

Believe what you will but we are not winning the league unless we invest heavily in the squad, Top 4 is a massive ask never mind finishing top

I don't disagree with your logic. It's just that logic is cold, and it kills hope.

I'll stick with my hope, thanks.

If we could get Lukaku and Tadic for 30m we should be all over that like a rash.

Traore in on a loan and Barry for free and we're looking at top five again next season minimum.

We are in four competitions this season in which the aim is to win so all good for ROM. Lets not forget that it,s the taking part that really matters and that should be our aim so let,s not fret if we miss out on our players.

He also says that he wants to play for a team that are going to win titles. So I guess that rules us out then unless 4th place cup counts as a long term ambition.

He also said during last season that we could win things, that something special was happening. Dunno exactly what he said, the story where he said it to Jags and Jags just laughed.

But basically I don´t think he would write us off as a second rate option.

I dunno, Everton make me happy even without success! I was ecstatically happy in 95 though, and Id love more of that

Great answer. I love Everton whether we are successful or not. Something that raises us above other clubs, especially in close proximity, is that we do not play up to the cameras or crave publicity but continue to produce high quality football and do great work in the local community without any propoganda from media hacks.

When players say "Titles" im pretty sure they mean Trophies in general.

We are well capable of winning trophies, and we do spend Money, we just sell at a premium.

We are Everton and will be doing things the hard way as usual...BUT I am very optimistic...and think our time to be back at the top aren't far away. We have a manager that's a tactician and who oozes class and confidence...and that rubs off on the players and think we also will be bringing in better players due to that over time. For some reason I believe Martinez when he said one doesn't need loads of cash BUT that it will take a bit longer to achieve...but can be achieved. And like Ellen said...bring in Lukaku would be a good start. :)
