Mate, Name a club in the last 20 years who has won the Prem without spending vast amounts of money
Blackburn,Chelsea,Arsenal,Utd and City are the only teams to win the league since 92 and all of them have spent a fortune
Believe what you will but we are not winning the league unless we invest heavily in the squad, Top 4 is a massive ask never mind finishing top

yeah, i'd be fine with it being £50m ish, if we do get him, i'm expecting 3 years max, we can't totally transform into one of the world's best in that time.
quite confusing having 2 Lukaku threads on the go at the same time, get mixed up with what i'm reading

But why? We'd be silly to put a buyback clause in his contract. It's essentially saying to Chelsea "We'll make him better, then you can have him back".

2 threads on one subject [Lukaku] is pretty good, considering on some, there are way more threads on some things lolquite confusing having 2 Lukaku threads on the go at the same time, get mixed up with what i'm reading
Liverpool only had a chance due to how poor United/City/Chelsea were and the fact that they had all started the season with a new manager, whereas they already had a settled squad. Those 3 will get their act together next season and Arsenal will predictably finish 4th, all of which means a finish outside the top 4 for Liverpool despite all the money they've spenttrue, but if that bang average liverpool team (i know they spent loads of money, but those players where nowhere near the quality the prices they paid), then it's not as possibly far off as it seems. i'm still intruiged to see if all this TV money money stuff will actually mean we have more chance, i'm sure it will.

I know, meant only 2 threads is nothing, compared to say x amount [say 4 or 5 etc] threads we could have on say transfers etc lol easier if all in one instead of so many different threads on the same subject-which is hard to sortI'm not moaning about the content, both threads are interesting, just a pain that's all. it's all good.
buyout we were discussing, not buy back.
put a £50m buyout in now, renew his contract in 2 years time and raise it to £70m - easy
Him and his agent will probably want it in there more than we will. Why would we want to put a buyout clause in his contract?
