Lukaku's continued disappointment is at his lack of opportunities at Stamford Bridge since arriving for around £18million in August 2011. He has played just 199 Premier League minutes for Chelsea, loaned out to both West Brom and Everton on season-long deals, and evidently feels that he has been unfairly rejected by the club despite meriting an extended chance to impress.

It's difficult to disagree. Lukaku only turned 21 at the end of last season, and yet the only current Premier League player with more PL goals in the last two seasons than the Belgian's total of 32 is Robin van Persie. That Lukaku achieved such a feat whilst playing for Everton and West Brom, where service (particularly away from home) was occasionally scarce, indicates just how comfortable he is playing as the central striker in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 formation, precisely the approach Mourinho may well utilise at Chelsea next season.

Sky Sports havent got a clue and are making it up as they go.

I think your right there, it was only last week there was no mention of Lukaku never mind any transfer news about Everton from them and now they are getting on the bandwagon like everyone else, I just would like some concrete news rather then hearing rumours about him signing whether it's to us or not

I'd hate for him to impress for Chelsea in a friendly and stay. Surely though Mourinho has already made up his mind one way or the other.

and did @Tin-Tin just call us second tier?

Osman saying it was close and hoping it could be done in time for his testimonial was big news. That Ossie lid is ITK, so I'm told.

I just think it should be put to bed 1 way or the other, Martinezs comments alarm me, with him saying hes willing to wait to get his targets, its a noble cause and nobody is saying you just grab anything, but it seems as tho hes willing to wait until we have played 3 games and the window is nearly shutting and I personally think its a dangerous and stupid game to play.

he was probably there best striker preseason last year and mourinho was happy to let him go

Long term if it means we get him, you have to wait. This is a potentially transforming signing.

You have to hope they've read the situation right and aren't being strung along though. And have a plan B that can be actioned quickly.

Well I hope what he is saying is true and we don't have to wait much longer

That would be a dangerous game and one I hope he has learned from from last season, he should get his main targets in before the season starts and only get some loans in at the end of the transfer window to add finishing touches to the squad if he needs to of course, personally speaking the window should shut before the season starts whether that be a day before or week but something needs to be done about it

From what ive read and what ive heard hes putting all his eggs in this 1 Lukaku basket, as you say, lets hope hes read everything correctly.

Im currently 50/50 that he signs, it changes hourly.

He's totally putting all our eggs in the Lukaku basket but he's worth it.

Worst case scenario we grab someone on deadline day and we struggle for a season. Frankly if we don't get Lukaku we'll struggle to come 7th anyway.

If we get him we have the hardest piece of tr jigsaw filled. It will be onwards and upwards after that.

I just hope Mourinho doesn't make us wait for a decision either way until after we play them.

A gentleman's agreement would suit everyone.
