Martinez apparently told the Echo that reports of him/us being confident of signing Rom are "wide of the mark".

Never said anything about lacking confidence, just said that any reports of a deal being close are inaccurate.

Also, I don't say much around here, but I have to acknowledge that trying to follow your British media speculation on player transfers is one of the most difficult things I've ever done. I have to spend 3 hours every morning reading articles about how Lukaku might land in Germany because somebody played a Beatles song backwards and heard "Wolfsburg."

Anyone who thought we'd sign Rom before he even returned to Chelsea in person was wide off the mark. Roberto has confirmed he wants him, and confirmed he's willing to wait. So we wait.

He was guarded in the interview where he said he couldnt comment on lukaku as he is a chelsea player.

Hes clearly stated hes confident as have osman, naismith and the hea dof recruitment.

Sadly someone made a video of him in Bangkok and he now has to backtrack on these commwnts or riak offending chelsea --see top paragraph.

Seems very clear cut he is signing.

I've already covered this.

And I agree.

Anyway loan wages aren't in wage bill for FFP of the loaned to club. Theyre in transfer and related expenditure since thats how its defined in FIFA transfer regulations.

And that goes back to the very point I have been trying to make.

The bar has been set in respect of the total wages Everton can pay.

Its not something that causes a problem at all in UEFAs version of FFP.The problem, if there is one, is within the PL version of FFP.

We aren't talking about breaking even or any loss being up to the figure set over a two then three year period its down to the fact that money spent on wages can only grow by a set amount or, if commercial income for instance grows, that growth can be added to the maximum sum that can be spent on wages.

We have no idea what Chelsea in respect of Lukaka nor Man City in respect of Barry ,charged the club nor how that sum was made up but already in the case of Barry he has signed a contract meaning his total wage cost will be have to be factored in and if Lukaka signs for the sort of fee that's being mooted then his wage costs & signing on fee will be significant.

Atsu on loan from Chelsea in that article? Seen him at the world cup and was really impressed with him. That'd be a great move for us.

Back to Lukaku. Those comments sound hopeful that its still going through. He's just covering his arse over that idiot who taped and published him

Wow that's RAWKish to the max.

I'll have to try and beat it. Perhaps a rewriting of Bohemian Rhapsody to include Lukaku or something.
