I agree with this and your previous post. At the end of the season I didn't even particularly want him. I feel I've been talked in to by popular opinion on here and the fact we've not been linked with any other strikers really. I'll now be very disappointed if we didn't sign him.

Have to say I expect him to have improved on last season and carry on doing so. If he was a few years older I'd be shocked at us going for him.
 
Rom still has lots to learn. Hes already come out and stated that Roberto improved his game so much in 1 season, lets hope hes happy to continue his development with us because if he wants to become the best striker (or one of) in the world/europe then its win win for both parties.

This signing would really signal intent for the first time in a generation. The fans know that, which is why were so desperate for it to happen.

Im not actually overly impressed by aspects of his game but the message signing him sends out is there for all to see.
 
I just hope that, when he signs, he gets the number 9 shirt. Kone has done naff all to deserve that number.

Lukaku proved last season that he is the main striker. With Martinez saying we need a number 9 and we will get one - I hope Kone will have it taken from him. He has to earn it if he wants it.

Would actually take number 2 off Hibbert and give it to Kone. Not like Hibbo will be playing too much this season (I hope)
 

If it's a loan then it MUST be a loan with an option to buy, but how does that work seeing as he's out of contract next summer? Would he have to sign a new contract with Chelsea? Watch those bastards give him 125k/wk just so even if we can afford the fee we won't be able to pay his wages.
 
just sign him. Dont care if it's loan or perma just do it. Like allen pointed out loan would have positive sides innit.
4 year perma would be best, though

i reckon a big sticking point will be what his release fee will be, particularly to a champions league club..
