Is it 3 seasons Courtois has been at Athletico? Obviously it wouldn't be as good as buying him but I'd take another season long loan tomorrow.

Think it would depend on Lukaku's contract - iirc he is currently on his last two years so if he doesn't extend it this summer they will probably sell him so as to get the maximum for him.

But if he extends it and Chelsea also buy someone like Costa then another year loan might work out for all. Although yet another striker stopgap for us, it means we could bulk up the rest of the squad with purchases & loans and hope we do well enough to get CL & the finances to afford our very own top striker.
 
Never say never. You just never know what will happen or what's around the corner. We don't know how much sway Martinez has and us as a club has in perhaps him thinking we could be the best destination. We honestly can't be sure whether we have 2.5m to spend on him or 25m with lots to spare. I think anywhere close to 20m for us would be too much for us as club to spend and that is unfortunately the state we are in. We deffo need another 4-5 players in. Would love Rom back for sure but if it doesn't happen then I'm going to trust Martinez and back who he gets in ( Christ I'm even going to give Kone the benefit of the doubt!! )

I'd sacrifice the first five months of the upcoming season by being short in other areas if it meant we could get Lukaku in this summer. He could lead our line for a decade or do so for a few years before moving on for a fee bigger than what we would pay.

if we signed him i am almost certain he would not be here for a decade. better teams wouldn't be able to resist.

i think it's all pipe dream sadly, he'll have teams already in the champs league after him right now, our best hope is that rumour that chelsea give him a new contract and he's back her on loan again next season.

i can't wish him to be crap in the WC, i love him and belgium too much, i think the chance is very low atm. we need to act fast though.
