Lukaku

Is there any substantial evidence that we Chelsea fans, Mourinho or the Chelsea board don't want Lukaku?

I can confirm that both Mourinho and the board left a voicemail on my home telephone confirming they didn't want Lukaku. Unfortunately the missus thought it was a P.P.I call and deleted the message and so evidence was lost. You can trust me though mate, Mourinho, the board and 23.7% of your fan base do not want Lukaku.

we can't afford him, so stop setting yourselves up for disappointed....deulofeu is gone, Lukaku is gone too!....

lol

Lukaku was sent on loan to get regular game time when your other option was Torres ? He clearly should have been getting regular game time.

Then he was sent on loan again, and your best striker scored 12 goals in 34 games, compared to Rom's 16 in 33 for us. He clearly should have been starting for you.

Finally there's the fact that you're now looking to spend big on a striker who will clearly be your main one. You play a system which utilises one out and out striker, you can't have two 'main' strikers in that system, it simply doesn't work.

We'll see where Lukaku is playing next season. I bet it won't be Chelsea.
Considering how many games Eto'o and Torres played respectively for us this season in a "one-striker system", I don't really know what you're talking about. Chelsea is a team that plays over 50 games a season in 4 different competitions.

If you think we are going to win anything playing with only one striker in any game, then you're just wrong.

You'll sign a striker or two thats a given, but after the two seasons he's had on loan, why would Romelu want to be backup to a Diego Costa or someone else? He wont. He wont want to sit on the bench and only play when your big money signing is a bit tired. He wants first team football week in, week out, something Everton gave him this season. He wont get that at Chelsea, even you know he wont.

Because neither is good enough to lead the line week in, week out. That's precisely why you should have kept Lukaku.

Nobody said anything about only playing one striker all the time, it's simply logic that in a formation where one striker generally starts games that there will be a main striker and then a good option/s from the bench. Lukaku wants to be the main man, if Chelsea sign Costa he clearly won't be.

Or to put it another way, he won't get any more games when they sign a big striker than he would have this season, in fact he'll almost certainly get less.
