It would probably be a better outcome for us if he didn't miss the World Cup but instead he plays injured and hopefully poorly.

If it is true and he wants to leave Chelsea we don't only have to worry about a good World Cup boosting his price we've also got to worry about other teams becoming interested. So if he does play but plays injured and as a result he plays poorly hopefully it can also turn away a lot of other clubs.

Lukaku was great last season, in terms of his play but also his passion for the blues. Why anyone would want to see him get injured and miss a tournament that will mean a lot to him is beyond me

TELL ME WHY IT IS NOT GOOD NEWS

because we love him.

i'd never wish an injury on a player because it MAY mean we have a better chance of signing them. give me the benefit of hindsight and i'll probably still say the same.

he's a top lad, you can't wish him to miss a world cup.

bit snide but this.
I didn't mean to come across like that, I really don't like talking like that, especially a player who's put on our great kit and that I love as a player so much.

I know it's very selfish but it's not very often we have the chance to sign a player of Lukaku's reputation and potential. I really really want us to sign him, he's already a proven striker who fits in with our style and he's still very young.

He could become one of the most important transfers in the history of the club. I know talking like I did is extremely selfish but it's Everton that I really care about and signing Lukaku would be a massive thing for our club. I just want us to sign him, I couldn't care what has to happen (other than selling Barkley or Stones), I just want to sign him.
