Lukaku's Everton Frustration

The media want a story and Lukaku is big news at the moment.
Lukaku is spelling out his ambition , there is nothing wrong with that.
I think there are hints as well that maybe promises were made regarding transfers and not followed through.
He knows that he is tied to Everton for two more years if the club decides not to sell and maybe is trying to put pressure on the club to really splash out this summer so that the club can have a real tilt at the top four in 2017/2018.

I would imagine RK will have no problems with any of that.

I am more worried that it will interfere with the impetus currently with the team.

Actually, after reading the transcript @MrGrumpy posted I am inclined to agree with you.
Fair comment. First time I've read the full text.

If you read that in isolation you'd have no hesitation in saying well in Rom. Spot on. But coming straight on the back of him saying he's not signing a new contract, the exact opposite of what his agent had previously said, the interview raises a number of questions. Questions only Rom and his agent know the answers to.

The real issue isn't what he said. It's more where those comments fit into the bigger question of him staying/leaving and the effect that had on the clubs progression.

Me too. Here's my take on it mate.

Hes not slating anyone really if you read the full transcript, i didn't find it earth shattering to be honest. In isolation you could say its controversial but not the whole thing.

The tail should never wag the dog in my opinion anyway.

I've read the full transcript of the interview and he's done or said nothing wrong.

He's not disrespected the club, the fans or his team mates.

The media are spinning his words into headlines that suit the narrative they want to spin, but that's what they do.

Moshiri needs to get Lukaku and his agent round the table and set out his plans for the summer imo.
Just had a look at the Mail article on it. I know it's a crap paper but I like to look at the comments section. The headlines are just mad. Even quotes Rom as saying he has nothing to learn from Harry Kane and that he wants to leave Everton. He said neither of those things and was actually very complimentary of Kane.

Score in big games, be more consistent as a all round player.

Don't take the above as a toys out the pram reaction to what he said. Here's the thing, Only in the last 12 months have we seen Rom's all round game improve. We had to wait for about 2 years to see him improve with experience. Now he has had a good season, he is talking about the board being behind ? How about you now give us two years to improve as a club ?

Im still waiting for this £70m player to turn up as a big game winner (see last years semi final for example). At 23 age is on his side but he is not near the levels of Lewandowski, Cavani, Higuain, Benzema and Suarez for example.

If he does move then maybe with better playmakers around him he may join that elite.
What are we classing as big games though mate?

He's scored in a couple of derbies, 2 FA Cup quarter finals, a League Cup semi final, the Arsenal home game in his first season which was probably our biggest game of that season, and all the way through our only European campaign with him. Yes he had a bad day in the semi, it happens. Where was Aguero last night? Is he no good now, because he didn't step up when City really needed him? Not many top class players about if they've got to be at their best in every game they play.

He's been our top scorer for 4 years running, and has scored considerably more than any striker we've had in the 20 years before he signed so I'm not sure why you're making out he's had some sort of Jamie Vardy style breakthrough season

What he said was fairly reasonable.

It does make me laugh though when players act like they are passive observers to their clubs. If only there was a way for him to change our fortunes on the pitch...

The Mail is a paper printed exclusively for Nazis mate

It's an interpretation of what he's said, but a correct one - he said he only watches and learns from four strikers in world football, and Kane isn't one of them. So it follows that he feels he has nothing to learn from Kane.

In fairness Harry Kane was giving Rom grinds in Trigonometry and he still couldn't tell his cos from his sine
