I would play hard ball and offer him a contract and if its not accepted then ask if its the wages or he wants to leave then inform the public and let them decide how to treat him. Let fans know if a player wants to play for us or someone else I say.

.......I suspect the last thing on his mind is fans reaction. Bosman puts the power very much in players hands and we have to get used to that situation.

If I was Garbutt's adviser I would encourage him to leave. He's not getting much game time here, he can not only significantly increase his earnings with a move but will also get a mega bucks signing fee. If most folk on here were him they would go. I'd be pleasantly surprised if he signs.

Yeah, so I was doing it, but I just wasn't feeling it. So I did it with Phil Jones and that handbag that looks like Phil Jones.

Yes I reiterate if we had not given over inflated contracts to our older players we would have been in a better position to offer him a good wage and use him more - for instance we have been crying out for a left sided player why not use Baines as left midfield and Garbutt at left back for the rest of the season?
Because Baines is a Left back.

I think you'll find our 'over inflated contracts' are less than the going rate for most clubs our size.
