Looks like Garbutt will sign after all. Maybe the U21 performance showed him he wasn't the finished article.

I'm really happy with this and a loan move is the best possible outcome for all concerned. I'm glad the club got this done as well. It would have been a real shame to have lost him. He's not ready now and those saying Baines didn't deserve to be dropped where right but he's definitely our future in that position.

Looks like Oviedo will stay and be allowed to go on a free. Hopefully he'll get the chance to show his quality next year and get a good deal. Any buyer for Oviedo will get a class act.

Garbutt with out a doubt shoulda played more, I was one saying that multiple times through out the season, that doesn't mean he's a better player than Baines though. (There's nothing wrong for with that though)

If United had of signed Baines two seasons ago Luke would've been the perfect replacement, if Luke was two or three years younger that would be perfect as well. He's at the age where he needs to be playing every week and we can't offer him that because Baines is currently a superior player.

I never said Garbutt was a better player than Baines - of course he's not. What I was saying was I would have started him ahead of Baines last season cause he was in form.

The Echo got Luke Garbutt's name wrong, it was discussed, so it was the right thread.

I still can find anything unofficial on the clubs' Twitter feed folks, has there been an official announcement?
