Garbutt's nailed on to play tomorrow. Wouldn't surprise me if RM also played Oviedo wide left and Baines as CM. Three LBs. Some sort of first that would be.

I recall Walter sending four centre backs out against either the Barcodes or Derby at home one day.

I was told he got offered a new contract ages ago. Obviously wants different terms (or to leave, but hopefully not).

He looks decent and I hope he stays. But he needs to swerve the snide favourites on twitter because it's going to do him no favours

Who remembers Moyes repeatedly playing the dynamic duo Heitinga and Phil Neville in central midfield. I almost burst a blood vessel every time.

or playing at home against Steve Bruce's Wigan side without a striker.

Wally smith loved playing defenders in midfield. Swear i remember a team that had either 3 right backs and 2 left backs or 3 left backs and 2 right backs.

Edit: had a look around but couldn't find it. We did finish this game with 7 defenders on the field though

Remember away at Pompey when Matt Taylor scored from 45 yards - Stubbs played CM ! Awful game.

.....I'd be amazed if he wasn't offered a new contract, I'm sure the club wanted him tied up. From his perspective, though, why would he stay and play 2nd fiddle to Baines when he could move on a financially lucrative Bosman and probably secure 1st team football. Bit of a no brainer really. It's a great time to be a footballer in demand.
