This for me is where Big Sam earns his money and his “Defensively Guru” tag. When you look at how poor Williams and Martina were before he joined he’s improved them vastly, leave aside whether you think they are really good enough they’ve improved. He “should” be able to improve Garbutt too at least up to a reasonable level. If he really thinks he can’t and buys a new left back fair enough , but make it someone decent like Tierney not some stop gap who’s played under Sam years ago and in reality wouldn’t be much of a step up from a Garbutt.
