Lagos

The remnants of the Super Eagles who were knocked out of the Ghana 2008 Nations Cup are expected to arrive Lagos this morning.

Eagles' Camp sources here in Accra confided in THISDAYSports that the team will arrive the Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos at about noon with all the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) officials.

It was also learnt that instead of the 23-man team that departed the country on the 15th of last month, Coach Berti Vogts and his assistants will come in with only 10 members of the team who were mainly bench warmers during the tournament.

All the English based players including Joseph Yobo, Obafemi, Martins, Mikel Obi, Yakubu Aiyegbeni, Dicks Etuhu, Seyi Olofinjana and Danny Shittu were all confirmed to travel to their bases last night.

It is expected by today all the players will depart the west coast after they were eliminated in the quarter final by the hosts.

He might be able to do this kind of thing at your Middlesbroughs and Portsmouths but certainly not here.

If he has blatantly ignored Everton and David Moyes, thats a big lack of respect, so much so we should get shut. Problem is now, if we don't play him a fall out is obvious and the price of him will fly down.

No doubt it'll be swept under the rug though.

If Moyes has tolerated VDM's indiscretions for so long I can hardly see him coming down too hard on Yakubu. Perhaps this will be another example of Moyes' more understanding style of management he mentioned in an interview a couple of weeks ago.

Nevertheless, if true, not good behaviour by the Yak :(
