I disagree currently Mikey.

I think Stickleback has dropped 1 clanger too many and Robles should be given a shot.

I think Stek has done enough to still be in credit

I don't think Robles is all that, and never have to be honest

I was happy to have him over Howard, but then again a rotten Egg and Cress Sandwich was preferable to Howard last season. It's not so much an endorsement of Robles as it is an damming indictment of Timmy Fumbles

I don't think anyone is going to argue that we shouldn't try and get an upgrade in the keeper position in either Jan or the summer

I'm perfectly fine with Stek staying in until that time though

Despite what some of the hysterical people across this forum are suggesting, Stek is a solid keeper who generally plays well. Everyone is ignoring an excellent bit of sweeper keeping not soon after the goal I see

Yes, that goal today was unfortunate, but it's happened to better keepers than Stek over the years and it will happen to them again in the future

We're fine with Stek until the new keeper's on the books and we should certainly keep him as back up when that new keeper is with us

Robles is no better than Stek and is not the answer right now

It should be Stek's job for the foreseeable
I don't think anyone's 'ignoring' him charging out of his box and managing to get it out for a throw in at the 4th attempt. More there's no real need to mention a player doing their job to a reasonable standard for a minute. Even cleverly passed to one of our players at one point. I think.

He's cost us goals against West Brom, Burnley, Chelsea and today. I'll let him off with the boro goal because he was fouled but it was still poor keeping. He effectively costs us a goal once every 3 games, and the odd good save doesn't make up for that.

Robles isnt all that, but he cant keep making mistakes and retain his place.

It's pertinent because people are going on about how Robles is a better option

My point is that Stek does the basics good enough to deserve to stay in until the new keeper is signed, even taking into account the odd mistake he's made whilst betwixt the sticks for us

Robles is in no way better in my eyes, so Stek stays in

Simple

He's not even made that many mistakes though

He's had decent enough stats for a 500K keeper

Robles will make just as many mistakes if he gets in, because they're both back up keepers, but Stek is the better back up keeper

I'm very much of the opinion that Koeman will stick with Stek, and it's the right call

Unsurprisingly Williams has got off scot-free for putting his goalkeeper in that position.
Stek has committed himself and wrongly, but if he wants to point fingers he has every right.
Ibra's shot hit the bar and post, had Mori not stood and watched expecting a goal he's made a clearance.
We critise numerous goalkeepers for not acting on impulse, Stek 5 minutes later made a decisive interception on Herrera
Yes he's at fault for the goal, but don't discount the ballwatching Williams and unreactive Mori.

If hes dropping Jags and Ross, he should also drop Stickle.

Ultimately, he does more good than he does bad IMO

Yes, he shouldn't be our #1 in the future, but until we get a brand new #1 I'll have him over the incumbent #2

Switching in Robles will not fix a thing, as he's not a particularly good keeper. I think the fact he was working alongside Howard last season has muddied some peoples opinions

Prior to last season, he'd never impressed in goal for us, and he only "impressed" last season because Howard was so awful and thus he looked great by comparison

Anyone remember the Quarter Final from 2014 at The Emirates?

Oh my God mate, yes he was

Would Howard last season have put anything in as good a performance against Spurs, City and Saints as Stek did?

No way, not in a million years

Stek is in no way the worst keeper we've had since Nev. Not even close

Penalty saves are a lottery, the amount of points this idiot is throwing away far outweighs the saves he has made. The point is for Koeman to be picking him ahead of Joel is a terrible call from the manager, and it is costing us points. If Joel had made any mistakes you could understand it but to be as poor as Stek is to still have a start is a joke.

Not even good enough for Fulham, worse keeper I have seen at Everton for 30 years
