If you're saying he flapped at Bentekes' goal last night, you're actually doing Benteke an injustice, cos that was an absolute peach of a pinpoint header.Flapped at a simple take last night; let a looping header shifting at about 3 miles an hour over his head and sat rooted to the ground.
GKs are measured by such incidents. He's not decisive in the box and he is what he is (and was called as but some weren't listening): a #2.

The ball was in the air an age; Stekelenburg could see Benteke was going to out jump Coleman with ease. If he couldn't adjust his feet for that then that reflects very poorly on him. It was very preventable.

Also noticed for a keeper who is 6' 6" he is not particularly good in the air. Gets dragged off his line a lot and his punches are not very strong. If you are going to decide to punch a ball instead of catching it make sure the punch is strong. Apart from that he has been better than i though he would be.
Agreed mate, Better than Robles, much better than Howard. Not the keeper though who is going to take us to the next level.Yep he done a woeful punch last night.
Like you though, I think he's a lot better than I thought he would be. Perhaps that just shows you how low our standards have become of what we expect from a keeper. I certainly think he's a step up from Robles but we still need far better imo
If Lukaku is staying then Koeman needs to make getting a new keeper in January the main priority, followed by a decent backup striker.
Not a bad keeper at all but he will never be our long-term no.1. If he was taking part in Strictly Come Dancing he would be getting 3/10 for being rooted to the spot and showing rigid slow movement.
Let's see what shakes out of the Champs Lge tree come January from those teams finishing 3rd and 4th.
