That's unfair. The media instigate interviews, not him. And I recall him being quite objective and saying how he'll still make mistakes and how one week you can be the hero and the next you're the villain. He was hardly boasting in the interviews.
Didn't need to do them.

Unwanted by Fulham; #2 for Monaco and S'ton; #1 for Everton.

Most agree we need improvement in that position but if I compare Stek to the last 10 years he's no worse or better. Very few keepers don't make mistakes, the ones that make less are at the bigger clubs. Personally can't complain with Steks contribution so far, above average in my opinion.

He is very good number 2, but until we get a number 1 he will continue as our number 1
If honest I think he is ok, but I think most would agree to improve we need to improve across various positions...and GK being one of them.
Robles in goal with 7 defending in front of him will get us pretty much the same results.

Stekelenburg is no better than him.

Wouldn't disagree

Said earlier Robles better distribution of the ball, but get a feeling he won't be given a chance

I quite like Robles....

We had the knowledge that we should be getting a top keeper when Howard announced his retirement. No excuses on that, it was another opportunity thrown away to solve the GK situation.

Completely agree with that obviously we all thought a new #1 was a priority even when Stek signed, so yes agreed.

Koeman chooses his team on merit...apparently.

I'll await Jagielka and Coleman and Stekelenburg's arrival on the bench against WHU then....

Didn't need to do them.

So he should have refused to do interviews the club would have wanted him to do? Ones which he may even be contractually obligated to do anyway. After saving 2 pens and being MOTM?

Give your head a wobble, Dave. A gentle one though; we don't want the last dregs of rational lucidity to fall out.

I must admit I didn't mind Robles but Stekelenberg had played what, 10 games? I remember Robles' early games ( admittedly coming in to replace Howard through injury or whatnot) and he looked far from solid,he got done at his near post against that Russian team like a schoolboy would.

I recalled he was struggle with high ball despite being 6 ft 4. I don't rate Robles myself.
