I say Mac's are ok. I like things that are easy to use and a Mac is easy to use. When u stare at a computer screen all day, you dont really care for the cost. What you really want is pretty button and sounds. I would rather spend an extra $500 and get someone to build me a computer than build it myself, but that's maybe cause i'm lazy. I would rather build a dog house.
 

Can anyone get live streaming footy on a mac?

I've got one of the original 17" powerbooks and can't find a mac compatible stream.
Maybe it only works on the newer ones?

ps. Dylan. This cost a whopping £2600 for a 1GHz machine when new, in 2001!! Luckily the company I worked for bought it for me.

Sometimes you can get it through Peercast. Last time I checked I couldn't find anything but I used to watch streams a couple of years ago all the time via that.
 
Oh dear, Mac's are better than PC's and always will be. They are more focused on quality and not mass production.

They look better, the operating system is better, the browser is better. The mail app is better, the calendar app is better. They feel better, they don't crash, they don't have millions of stupid popup's. They are easy to use. They are [Poor language removed] cool. And you all wish you were that cool.

I am cool, I make Fonzy look like a Burmo sandal wearing gypsy.

Once you go Mac, you never go back.

Can you? You can run XP on a Mac too, and its a better quality machine.

Honestly, Macs are better, in my opinion, they look better, perform better, better for media, music, editing, more powerful, better operating system (imo) although i do like vista too...

...The only problem with Macs are teh games, you have to buy them specially for macs, and they are harder to find that the normal pc games...

I am not talking about software here. I am talking about hardware.

YOUR MAC IS A PC. Lets see, Intel Core 2 Duo processors, Intel chipsets on the motherboard, DDR2 RAM, CreativeSoundcards, Nvidia Graphics cards.

Over-priced PC's. Steve Jobs has done a fantastic job of pulling the wool over your eyes. Brilliant job.

So buy a PC and run Leopard. Then for gaming reboot and run Vista.

Oh Dom, they aren't more powerful. In fact the top of the line Mac is usually a step behind in the CPU/GFX card stakes.
 
Ok, Dylan think of it like this.

Microsoft don't make PC's. They are mass produced because there is a huge market for cheap PC's.

Apple make Mac's. Nobody else. They are high end, because they a) attract no virus, b) are more stable, c) look good. Watch 24, they use Mac's.

I can understand your desire to hold on to the belief that PC's are best. But they are not, and if you spend a year in the world of Mac, you would agree. I have seen both sides of the coin, in leisure and business, and I would never go back to PC's.

You just aren't listening to me are you. I am not talking about Software. I am talking about hardware. I don't care how good your 'sexy' Mac looks. THEY ARE PC's. All Apple do is take away your upgradability to ensure you have to come back and buy a while new machine when yours doesn't suffice anymore, and then stuff it into their white proprietary cases.

What you have to understand Ghost, is I am an electronics tech. I do hardware down to a component level. Your Mac is functionally identical to a PC. Long gone are the Motorola Power-PC processors, now they are x86 based Intel's.

You say that you would never go back to PC's? Well mate YOU HAVE!!! Just an expensive one. I think your statement should read "I am not going back to Windows".
