Ah right, thought she recently had a birthday to make her 5 shortly after being abducted, must have been to make her 4 then.
Basically, 1000's of children go missing each year in the uk. Many of which never found. It doesnt matter if they are 4,5,6,7,8,9,10 etc, they are still children who have gone missing. Maddie has had plenty of publicity, Everton cant do much more to help, but they could help another missing child who people wouldn't have seen or even heard of.
Have a look at this: http://www.missingpersons.org.uk/
How many 4 year old girls do you see on those lists?! Hmmmm...
Seriously Danny it is not a common occurrence! I know your feelings on it and we have spoke before but I cant agree with you...
Were did i say thousands of 4 year old girls go missing? I said children. Its also not rare babies go missing either, on http://missingkids.co.uk, 3 children are on it who are younger than 3. (and thats just on one poxy website, am sure there will be hundreds more). One being YING LEE from Barnsley. Have you heard of her? No?. Didn't think so. Bringing up my very valid point that if any publicity for missing children was to be done by Everton, it should be done for another child (like Ying Lee) rather than Maddie.
1000s upon 1000's of children go missing in the UK every year. Literally hundreds of thousands. I dont know how many times i have said that. Many are found, many aren't. The media coverage of Maddie has made ti appear that its rare a toddler is abducted when sadly, children are reported missing on a daily basis.
I've rambled on a bit there, but my point being parading more images of Maddie at an Everton game would be pointless, why not try and bring another missing child to peoples attention?
Sorry Mick. I dont agree at all.
Maddie has had loads of publicity, Everton have already helped publicise it. If they were to do it again, it should be to help find some of the other lost children. Simple as that in my mind.
Facts are;
100,000+ children go 'missing' in the UK every year.
A lot of them are never found.
There is more than just Maddie McCann who is missing.
Right Im going to leave it because you obviously didnt even look through your own link you sent me.
My problem with this whole situation (which is terrible, speaking as a parent I hope I never go through this), is why does this girl get the benefit of the media attention. Why her, why now. Why doesn't this attention get extended to all the kids who go missing?
Now I will back out of this before any stray shots come my way!
I understand what you are saying and maybe because Maddies parents have a bit more money behind them to push the search on is why it is still so much in the public eye
A 4 YEAR OLD DOES NOT JUST DISSAPPEAR- when they do it makes [Poor language removed] headline news.
I think if any missing kid is pictured in an Everton top, then that kid would get as much support as possible.
If the kid was seen in a Celtic top, then our support would not be as strong. But the club obviously see it as one of our own and that is why they are still supporting the cause, and rightly so.
