Every season or so, we gather on these forums to carry out the orderly and peaceful transfer of power, from one failed manager to the next
This season, however, has a very special meaning. Because this season, we are not merely transferring power from one manager to another, or from one formation to another – but we are transferring power from Goodison Park and Finch Farm and giving it back to you, the fans of Everton Football Club.
For too long, the small group of the Sky Six has reaped the rewards of the Premier League, while you the fans have suffered.
Chelsea bound Lukaku flourished – but Chelsea bought their success and did not earn it.
Footballers like James Rodrigues prospered – but you, our fans had to work triple shifts to pay for his yacht.
The True Blue Holdings establishment protected itself, but not you, our fans.
Their victories have not been your victories; their triumphs have not been your triumphs; and while they celebrated in their penthouses, there was little to celebrate for struggling families of Evertonians all across our land.
That all changes – starting right here, and right now, because this moment is your moment: it belongs to you.
It belongs to everyone gathered here today and everyone watching all across Liverpool and Columbia.
This is your day. This is your celebration.
And this, Everton Football Club, is your team.
You will never be ignored again.
Your voice, your hopes, and your dreams will define our Evertonian destiny. And your courage and goodness and love will forever guide us along the way.
Together, we will make Everton strong again.
We will make Everton wealthy again.
We will make Everton proud again.
We will make Goodison Park a happy place again.
And, yes, together, we will 'Make Everton Great Again'.
Thank you, God bless you, and God bless Everton.
