Man City fan lets rip...

We where once called the Mersey millionaire as well.

@PaulPowersTash you said in an early once one we start winning we get the same treatment as City. We already get that

Sam Allardyce... what more do Everton fans want? He finished 8th and SAVED EVERTON from certain relegation as they where 18th(actually 13th won his 1st game and we went 9th)
Carlo Ancelotti never going there not a chance
Carlo can’t work with poor players

Kloop world class but Ancelotti a good manager(Paul Merson last week)
James us well past it, doesn’t like the weather to cold. Can’t hack the psychicality of the prem(as another horrendous tackle goes in on him and goes unpunished)
Richarlison dives(Salah doesn’t) Richarlison doesn’t defend(most tackles of any forward)

just watch tonight game
And that's before you start winning things.
I've said it before but I just don't know how you put up with
that bunch across the park and in your city. I thought United
were bad but that lot take the cake by a country mile.

Of course the Love In with United and That Lot also culminated in the "why would Carlo want to manage Everton" line.. same old, same old..

God forbid anyone should ever tell them that EVERTON won more points in Division 1 in the 60s than good old Shankly's (YNWA) Reds, Busby's (Charlton-Law-Best) Boys, Nicholson's (Push and Run, 2 titles in their entire history, Greavsy lead) Spurs, Revie's wonderful (Dirty) Leeds side of the 60s and early 70s, Allison and Mercer's fantastic (one year wonder, Bell-Lee-Summerbee) City side, Swinging London (one title in the 50s) Chelsea boys, The World Cup winning (no title ever) Hammers or even mid table (nothing from 1950-1971 and again until the late 80s) "good old" Arsenal or even Clough's Derby Upstarts but there it is - the best side of the 60s, believe it or not, was boring, TV hating, Harry Catterick's (Ball-Harvey-Kendall-Golden Vision inspired) EVERTON FOOTBALL CLUB
You only need to see this to prove the facts.

The screenshot below is 1888-1969 from the video link. The best way to find out the best team in any one country is this, the 1968 European Cup for Man United may make their supporters disagree with us, but we were much more consistent than them overall during the 60s and that’s all that matters.

I know this Man City squad is excellent but if you picked the strongest side, the back up team is slightly unbalanced one CB too many and a CM short however Ake has played CM so it wouldn't be a disaster. If they get Kane in place of Aguerro or Jesus, Messi to fill the missing midfield position and a new LB in place of Mendy and Zinchenko drops to the bench I think they will take it on to another level.

I really enjoy watching them play to be honest. I think some people have the right to be aggrieved about the manner in which they built the club, but you'd be lying to yourself if you didn't admit that they're amongst the best teams to watch in world football.

I love the way they play and they are quite possibly the best English club side I have ever seen. I am to young to remember 84/85 Everton. Don't remember 86/87 Everton either but they weren't as good. I wasn't born when 69/70 Everton played.

Can't believe they won 4-1 yesterday though. They completely dominated the first half, in a way that was tragically boring (I'm sure it wasn't for City fans), which may have been down to Wolves ultra-negative, sit back and contain the pressure.

Wolves just collapsed as soon as the second went in, felt almost like a cup tie. But what do you expect after 90 mins of wave, after wave of attacking ball.

There was enough to suggest that they're not flawless, in that performance, but christ, they won't half punish you if they get a chance.

If you don't remember them, then how are you certain they weren't as good.

I do remember them, and at their Bayern Munich destroying best, they'd have gone toe to toe. Under modern rules the 80's team would be carded into oblivion. Under 80's conditions, the City team would have been kicked and rushed far more than now and it would be a question to see if they could have coped. It's very hard to judge, though I strongly suspect that City have the better players.

Just the consensus on here was 84/85 was a better team than 86/87 which was more of a workmanlike side. 84/85 were a whisper from a treble 86/87 only won the league. That's why said this City team is the best I have seen. In 84/85 conditions I'm confident the Everton team would win. Under current conditions City would win. Under mid 90s conditions it would definitely be interesting. The RS cost us so much that team would have dominated the 80s and we would have been able to replace like for like instead of downgrading.

Hi looses all credibility when he says they are not state run and instead owned by an "individal" - it is that very brainwashing that gets them into this mess.

my two cents for what its worth....

I should say from the outset, i've always had a soft spot for Man City, I was bright to Maine Road as a kid and was delighted to see them get back into top flight football, but I was not a fan to the take over and the transition the club went through as a result. They lost a lot of their fans, who rightly questioned the deal and with that the soul of the club was damaged although clear not eradicated, which is great for the club and new owners.

Their achievements since have been incredible, they have invested strategically and have 5 leagues to show for it, but it doesnt change the fact that they have achieved this through financial doping, they have accepted their guilt and paid the fines (twice now), they did their deal with the devil (which is fine) but the consequence of it is the asterix beside any if their achievements.

Their reality is the media, the public in general and the football fraternity, will never give them the credit they deserve, but that's the trade off they have for the way they have gained their success, they are a showpony for an arab state & they are treated that way, their wins will be forgotten by history, we dont see Premier league years when they win leagues and their biggest moment "Aguerooooo" is remembered as much for costing United is a league as it is City's win.

Where for me this gets interesting is the players, they also dont get recognition outside the club, that again some of them deserve, David silva should be talked about like Scholes, Lampard etc, he is not. De Bruyne doesnt get the credit her deserves, again this is the trade off for representing an Arab state.

I mentioned in another thread recently the "emthyhad" jibes as the epitome of the challange that city have, the owners are desperate to portray an institution like Barca or United, but the reality is they have resorted to falsifying their gate numbers (Source - GMP reports) to give themselves some credibility, it's a desperate move from an ownership, who offer "influencers" free admission in exchange for instagram posts.

Ultimately, your man is right, there is apathy towards them, the media aren't bothered, because they cant get ratings when they are on, the papers wont do an 8 page pull out because it wont sell and history will forget their achievements or at a minimum belittle them, but that is the price of dancing with the devil the have. I wouldnt want to see us go the same route, even if it it meant 5 titles in 10 years.
Speak for yourself lol

Genuine question:
If Moshri sold out to a Saudi Sovereign Wealth Fund what would you do?
Stop supporting the club and the team you have supported all of your
life from being a kid? As I say - genuine question.
you wouldn't stop supporting them but the interest may wane, I know a couple of City fans who followed them home and away when City were at their depths but they say they have lost the connection to the club these days. I can kinda see where they are coming from, they still look out for the results but wouldn't dream of being season ticket holders again

Probably try to justify it, like you do, then most likely lose interest cos I couldnt support the inevitable destination they would take. (Euro Super Duper League sort of thing).

Obviously it's a hypothetical & I dont think I could walk away, but where I would make sure I got to is not denial that the club was being leveraged as a sportswashing tool & I would like to think I would never turn down the route of looking at the owners as "Good People". Yes of course I would enjoy the wins, but there would be a sense of regret with it & like lots of city fans, my personal interest would wane IMHO

I have no Idea about you PPT, you seem like a great fella, but I hear many Man City fans, talking about the "Good People" that own the club & that for me is frightening & more worryingly, in a far more extreme sense - the NUFC fans, out in large volumes suddenly were defending the role of Bin Salman in the Khashoggi murder. Defending Murder as ok because of football is bananas but that's why sportswashing is so powerful.

With all that said, I appreciate all football fans, including myself are hypocrites, so who knows
