Man City off-loading players

Given is a better keeper than Hart is. I still think Given is one of the best keepers in the league. I'd take him over Howard any day.

Given's the best keeper in the league, imo.

But it made sense to stick with Hart, because he's so much younger, and he'd have wanted out if he wasn't starting. Right now Given's the better option, but thinking for the future, I can see why Mancini chose Hart.

Lescott is not on the offload list from waht I read. But as for the other players it is not a matter so much of the transfer fee but their wages. Going to be difficult to find clubs unless they take a cut in wages.

Can't believe how strong Given hype is among fans from various teams. I would never swap Howard for Given - as Given is just a worse version of Howard - better shotstopper, but much worse in commanding the area, rushing out, playing the ball, going for crosses, etc...
His MOTD saves made him one of the most overrated players in Premier League, it's not a surprise, he never joined TOP 4 and it's not a surprise that a minute City got a good goalkeeper, he was benched.

Regarding City offloading players - it will be so fun following that, when teams will ask players to agree for a pay cut, or will ask City to compensate players difference in wages (just like City is playing 2/3 of Bellamy's salary, I know he's on loan, so it's not perfectly comparable)

Jo wont be coming back here and personally I wouldnt want him anywhere near Goodison Park never mind an Everton shirt.

Ok mate no problem fair play i mean thats your opinion and youve gotta stick by what you believe in havent you i mean i thought jo had alot of promise but then he let us down so it was tough to like jo after a while because while he worked hard for the team he just wasn't scoring and as a stiker thats what youve gotta do havent you so it was a shame really but i wouldnt say he was that bad but thats just your opinion so i respect that matey ok see ya later.

:P.
Just joshing matey, love your sig.

I'd personally love to see SWP, a talented player who has seemingly been happy to be a bit part player - bundles of speed, very tricky, and would provide some much needed width once Stevie P leaves.

SWP is still hoping for a 100k per week contract, so... :). Also, I always liked him, but even in his best years his end product was average.

Exactly, we don't want to replace somebody with the worst final ball ever (Pienaar) with somebody just as bad.

IMO Pienaar's final ball is quite ahead of SWP's, especially when we would be talking about through balls. But I know since Pienaar doesn't want to sign a new deal, he lost majority of skills in fans eyes.

Baines is a better LB, just like Coleman's a better RB. Because they work better on the overlap; give the ball to the wide player, run ahead of your man and collect the through ball, cross.

Lescott was a good LB, but Baines is a better one. He was a really good CB, but Distin's probably as good. We don't miss him, but I'd still take him back in a heartbeat.

LW wouldn't be Baines best position, but theres nothing in his skill set that says he can't be a good LW, just like there is nothing in Colemans skill set that says he can't play RW either (I actually think Coleman will make a better RW in the long run). For a long time it was thought that MonkeyBalls was a back line player too.

Baines can't dribble, isn't very pacy, doesn't feel very comfortable going inside - all this attributes make his chances at LM quite limited, Coleman is much better suited for RM than him.

I'd take Given in a second. I like Howard and all, but Given is the second best 'keeper in the league (behind Reina, it has to be said).

He deserves a tilt at a title though, he deserves far, far better than his First Division medal and an Intertoto Cup medal. Can see him joining Arsenal in January or else United next summer to replace VDS.
