Will tell me alot about everton under martinez this. Under moyes after a pee poor home game we would then turn up and do one of the big boys. A point wouldn't be a disaster but after yesterday we really need the 3 imo.

West hame are something like 6 points ahead
Southampton about 9
Utd 7
Spurs have palace at home which should be 3 points and they need to show up after that Chelsea performance.

We can't afford to slip even further behind

When ? I must of missed that under Moyes. We rarely did one of the big boys and usually after a home game, we are away. I would love to see those Moyes' stats of when Everton played away from home to the big boys.

The only thing i am looking for today, is a response to that dire second half showing against Hull. I've said numerous times that i can just about take a defeat on the chin, but only if we have given a good account of ourselves and gave it a go.

Well after a certain 3-0 defeat at home we then turned up and beat a certain side in sky blue 2-0 the weekend after....

The 1st 7 years of Moyes consisted us of tearing apart the bottom 12 teams in the league and going out meekly against the top 4. The last 3 years consisting of us playing our best against the top 4 and bottom 12 cock-ups.

They must have all been home games when we 'would turn up and do one of the big boys'. Moyes never won a single game in 10 years at Anfield, Old Trafford, the Emirites and Stafford Bridge (except the cup game won on pens).

Home or away it doesn't matter mate, look at Newcastle at the etihad and WHL.

Football is 70% psychological ive always thought that, if we turn up with a rocket up our arses we can do these today.

My only worry is RM seems to never bollock them and is always "the performance was good" in his interviews. Like moyes or not he bollocked the players when they didn't turn up and it's what you need at times

Worried bout today. Fully behind RM and would give RM chance for couple years. Will prob finish round 8/9/10th. Question have been asked re what has happened this year. We have been dodgy since Sunderland last xmas. Sometimes brilliant and sometimes brutal. More brutal now. Our defense is not solid prone to desperate mistakes. Distan can have some good games but is totally unreliable for a top 4 striving team. Same said for Howard. Today is probably a better day to play RM tactics. He should have been shot for playing like that at home under lights on Wednesday. Home v hull. Intensity levels were like they had wacked each other off at half time and wanted to cuddle each other and chat while RM made some fukin rubbish points after the match. He won't get away with that much more. See a 3 nil to city today but we will pick up some points after that. Mid table boys this season for defo.

If your belief is that football is 70% psychological, then the bolded part must make some sense to you then, surely ?

You don't bollock players in the post match interview or even talk about it in the media days later either.

It's needed at times. The best managers of recent years all bollock the players (fergie, Mourinho and simeone) to name just three.

How did Martinez telling his plays they were phenomenal every week help wigan not go down mate? Serious question.

I'm all for praise when it's going well but when you've won 4 in something like 14 games it's time for a bollocking

Graeme Jones does the bollocking as I understand it.

You claimed that after a defeat at home we would 'do one of the big boys'. Moyes never won a game at OT, Anfield, Emirates or Stamford Bridge. Seems like Moyes's 'bollockings' worked a right treat. Newcastle went to the Etihad in the Capital One Cup and won. Not the first time Man city or any of the 'big boys' will lose a cup game.

How do you know that Martinez doesn't 'bollock' them? Maybe Martinez thinks that the best way to prepare a team psychologically is not to bollock them in the media. Unless you have an insight into the inner workings at Finch Farm then it is just hot air to say Martinez doesn't bollock them. Or maybe he just has a quiet word with them and talks to them as adults.
