I didnt think coleman offered much as a winger today, i thought he could have moved him back and replaced hibbo with a better attacking option. Not that hibbo played bad but coleman offers more attacking from fullback.

should have been done with 20 mins to go imo. coleman's shown before how average he is at RM. martinez has probably never seen it before in his defence. but i can't tell you who played full back for city today as they never had anything to do

Lukaku was abysmal, but because he had one decent volley people will excuse his non-existent hold up play, crap passing and so on as per.

Barry had the worst game imaginable. Haven't seen anything as bad as that since watching Carl Serrant play for Newcastle in about 1996 or something, where he was hilarious.

Hibbert was... well, Hibbert. Was wetting myself at him at one point in the second half.

Only players to emerge with credit were Distin and Barkley, the rest were awful - and it's made worse by the fact they only had to turn up and battle for the game to get credit from me, as I expected nothing, but it was the laziest, most awful performance imaginable because we still kept to the slow build up crap.

Just awful all round, and Martinez deserves all the flak he gets at the moment.
Distin has been putting in wildy fluctuating performances, he seems to be either excellent or awful with little middleground.

lukaku had nothing to go on all game mate. he got one half chance and struck it cleanly. don't remember any touch of the rapists from him today, we simply never got the ball to him. i genuinely feel sorry for him this season, he's had virtually every game with nothing to keep him interested.

I wish people would stop saying this - service, service, service... Nothing stuck to him and his movement was awful, to the point where he's not getting in decent positions to give himself and the team the best possible chance of scoring.

If you're criticising the attacking unit, Lukaku is part of that attacking unit!

We never play the killer pass though, The one that splits a defence through the middle, Its slow methodical build up play, 5 yard one two's in and around the area, He's not that player, How many times do we put an early cross in or a ball over the top for him to get on the end of, He's feeding off scraps

you know what I take that back. I do actually care about this for me. When you are actually down 1 to nothing in the last 15 seconds of the match you should have every single person rushing forward instead of standing around waiting for someone else to do something. Its a [Poor language removed] joke at this point.
the have been brainwashed into pass pass pass. injury time and not 1 man in the box

And I've said this myself, many times. Search the Lukaku thread if you like.

BUT he still needs to offer more to the team if we're using a system which relies on the ball to stick up front. If he's not doing that, then he's piss poor at what he's being asked to do. It's that simple - it may not be his fault, but it's true nevertheless.

And to be fair, I'm not asking him to be a technical superstar - I'm just asking for him to able to take a simple pass and not have it cannon off him 5 yards. For £28m (and yes, the price tag matters), you'd expect as much.

He's invisible for 85 minutes a game at the moment. It's not good enough, and people who moan about the lack of service should instead be moaning a supposedly 'potential world class talent' who has now had over 12 months to learn how to trap a ball in this system and looks as clueless as day one.

Our first glimpse of a ruined future where Chelsea City F.C are formed and the Premier League season just consists of them going to Etihad Bridge and lifting the trophy in mid August.

Oh well, if that means we don't have to watch Baines take another corner then so be it....

Were we playing the same formation as usual? It looked more like 3 at the back at the beginning?

I think we did a little bit better than recently, not quite as much poncing about in dangerous positions, not quite as much as passing it backwards and from side to side as usual. Thought we were a bit better going forward when Barkley came on.
