Man City will be buoyed by the Chelsea result but at the same time they may feel extra pressure because they have to take this chance to close the gap! I don't know, the PL is so unpredictable this season! If we put in a proper performance we can take something, no doubt! We cannot just roll over because they are man city, that would be pathetic!

His record against City was top drawer.

I know.

But the people who are already excusing Martinez for a possible defeat today, are the same ones who have been swooned by Martinez' small talk, and the fact that his persona full of chat up lines was in direct contrast to Moyes' negative and depressive interpretation of reality. The same people who make out that Moyes never had a decent result against the top four, and that Martinez has a list full of successes against them.

bottling fans like me ?

Haven't you spent the last 2 hours pulling Martinez apart ? I'm in support of my teams manager.

How are you supporting when you are making excuses for us losing before we have even got on the pitch?

We win today I can't wait to hear the hypocritical bollocks that will be spouted by the same 'fans' who have made aguero captain in their fantasy teams.

Man city are the better side no question, but Chelsea are better than Newcastle, Arsenal are better than Stoke and we are better than hull but all those 3 sides shown some fight and bottle.

This is why for me today is the acid test for Martinez. Can he get stuck in and have the lads firing on all cylinders and playing like it's a cup final ala spurs against us pressing their mercenaries all over the pitch?

Or will he just stick to one winger in the side and persist with a disjointed side that does nothing on the ball?

The same feeling would be present if we still had Moyes as a manager now based on our form.

The difference is that Moyes would have us drilled not to lose, escape with a point. Tight, compact, take limited chances.

Martinez wants us to win despite form.

So all depends on what you want. Its night and day but the feeling is the same.

What excuses mate ?

There are no excuses at all. Yet i am realistic and you won't be finding me saying ridiculous and knee jerk comments like the ones you've been spouting in the last hour.

' If Martinez doesn't win, i've lost all faith ' ?? Christ almighty

Have you been on the ale you sly dog ? Some early afternoon pops before the game.

It was only a 3 - 0 home defeat and a 4 - 1 thumping away last season for Moyes against City.

top drawer that !

Last 8 meetings we've won 4 to their 3. 2 of those losses were last season.

So out of 6 meetings under Moyes, we won 4 and had 1 draw against City.
