This tinpot comedy club has not had a proper striker since the day Lukaku left, and it has never ever been adequately addressed. That is criminal, and no other half competently ran club in the country would ignore it for all the years we have and expect to be anything other than down the bottom ever year.
Yes, you hit the nail on the head. No other COMPETENTLY run club would accept it. We haven't been competently run for decades.

I'm not here to defend this manager. He has to go. But the fact remains: these players might earn a few more points with a better manager - but they'll never earn enough to be worthy of the badge of a truly ambitious club with standards.

Granted, we are not that club right now, but as soon as these new owners come through that door, we have to be.
Agreed absolutely. 5 or 6 more points might make all the difference this season, but bigger picture, until 80-90% of the squad has been replaced/overhauled we can forget about getting anywhere close to where we were ten years ago.

Most coaches/managers make no difference to results. It’s only a select few who produce results above par. It’s, of course, much easier to do worse than expected!

Make no difference?!?!? What an utterly bizarre thing to say. Go ask Forest fans if they think Nuno has made a difference to Cooper. I wonder if Leics fans think Ranieri made a difference to ostrich-head. If Newcastle fans think Howe is an upgrade on Bruce, or if Villa fans think Emery is an upgrade on Gerrard. I wonder if Brighton or Brentford think who the coach is makes a difference.

The coach/manager should be the single most important person at the club from a footballing sense. To say their philosophies and plans and abilities make no difference to results is such a wild take.

The standards at Everton have hit an all time low. That Dyche is still here is the reason we have been abject for 30 years.
He should never ever have even been considered for the job in the first place. The fact that a bloke who got sacked for winning 4 of 30 games and wasn't deemed good enough for mother flipping Burnley got the top job here says everything about how utterly abject and tinpot this club has become.

I'm not defending Dyche, but surely his biggest critic can't argue that he's the reason we've been poor these last 30 years. Did he appoint incompetent managers? Did he waste years and millions of pounds trying to move the club out of Liverpool to Kirkby? Did he spend record fees on deadbeats like Bolassie, Sandro, Klaassen, and the long parade of substandard dross we've bought over the years?

Dyche is a symptom of the problems, not the cause.

Everton definitely didn't get the rub of the green today despite starting well, didn't deserve to get beaten like that.
they absolutely did deserve ve to get beat like that. They had a decent spell before the united first goal but we never looked like threatening a goal. We are terrible, currently bereft of talent, tactical sophistication, belief and desire

Dyche is compounding the problem without doubt .
