The coach/manager should be the single most important person at the club from a footballing sense. To say their philosophies and plans and abilities make no difference to results is such a wild take.

Couldn't agree more. Behind every successful team. Whether that be winning trophies or teams punching above their weight is a good coach, having the teams coached well, physically fit and psychologically up for every game is a good manager.

Just started to watch this back as i haven't been able to follow it live today and figured i couldn't be arsed to watch after 48 minutes. Absolutely nothing good to take from this game. Same problems we've had all season in attack, just that in this case we can't even make the defence tick, with an added taste of Old Trafford away anguish. He was unemployed, wasn't going to cost a penny in compensation to hire and was willing to do it for about half the salary Bielsa apparently wanted. Watched the game and then suffered the highlights just now. Good god - there was some piss-poor defending on show from us today. How does no-one have Rashford (their main striker) at a corner, don’t care where in the box he is? Branthwaite had a complete brain fart to give the second on a plate. The third was most embarrassing for me, when we lose the ball from Pickford Mykolenko is in the middle of the pitch ahead of the centre circle??? Then Tarkowski watched as they score. The fourth Mykolenko loses the ball, freakishly gets it back and then delivers a hospital pass to Tarkowski who bottles out of a 50/50 for some reason and they are away.
For the Wolves game, Mykolenko and Tarkowski should be dropped with Patterson and O’Brien in.
The midfield held their own against a weak Man U midfield for 30 mins and then collapsed. doucoure still there after half time - Mangala must wonder what is going on. He should have been in front of the back 4 all game.
Lindstrom is trying too hard to be successful. Needed some Carabao cup games sadly. McNeil was a passenger and N’diaye must be another wondering where he has landed, our players not on the same wavelength. Beto tried but he is not a Premiership player.
Patterson, Mangala and O’Brien all looked better than the players they replaced.
