A few observations and comments:

1) First. I called into a nationwide football talk show today here in the USA called The Football Show. It's hosted by ex Newcastle player Ray Hudson and Chelsea correspondent Neil Barnett on Sirius/XM FC ch 94. They were taking calls before Ray would make his predictions for the night's matches so I called in and got through. I told Ray, "You don't have to make your prediction because I'll make it for you. ManU 2-1 Everton." He said "Yeah Bill from Texas, you're probably right." He ended up going with that very prediction. Ray's predictable that way.

I replied, "Well I think Everton are going to win and one player you need to watch out for today is BRYAN OVIEDO." Holy crap !!! I couldn't have called it any better than that.

I Tweeted Ray later on today and said something to the effect of "What did you think of that? Oviedo Baby !!!" He responded, "Magic Bill." Fair play to him.

2) My MenOTM were Bryan Oviedo and Tim Howard although you could make a case for a few other players.

3) McCarthy - Getting better and better each game to where you think WE got the deal at 13M. Solid again.

4) Barry - What an acquisition. You think he's enjoying his football again with us? Solid again.

5) Barkley - A bit frustrating but that's what you're going to get from time to time with him. Keep it up Ross.

6) Manchester United - My honest opinion? I just don't think they're as good this year and I don't think they'd be doing a whole lot better if SAF was still in charge. Yeah I know it's a lot of the same players but they've got a lot of holes in a lot of different positions.

7) Lukaku didn't score and we still won. Grinding out a few results eh?

8) Lastly, I don't think we'll win at Arsenal but we'll sure as hell give them a game.

COYB !!!

Love Ray Hudson. He says the most bonkers things but his passion for the beautiful game is really really clear. He has a real thing for Riquelme, which makes him great him my books!

McCarthy for MOTM I think, but as you say there was a lot of great performances.

Loving reading through all this, got to say I thought. Lukaku had his best game for us tonight, Vidic couldn't handle him.

There wasn't a player in blue who played badly.

I am so proud right now.

Thanks Everton

Watch the replay of the goal.

Watch Coleman celebrating in front of the six yard box, he literally hasn't got a clue what to do. Pure unbridled joy.

I love things like that. Our players are blue through and through, they love playing for Everton.

have a feeling this might be like that time when lescott lefto man city and then we went to the etihad and smashed them 2-0 i think with cahill scoring

feeling was right.

and then 2 posts further down from mine mikey fitzgerald posts this gem

Good to see Brother dishing out some Oviedo love

Will be tough this. Would be delighted if we won it 1-0

I'm going to put something highly emotional, so be warned......

I officially became a blue at the age of 7, halfway through the 1996/97 season but this was mainly to rebel against the red horde of my primary school chums - I always wanted to be different, a leader. So I didn't start PASSIONATELY following them until around the 2002/03 season, which means I missed the wins at Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool in 94, 96 and 99 respectively...

So this is obviously the first time I've been conscientious of us beating a "big four" team away..... my god, does it really feel this good? It's like a curse has been lifted (well, one quarter of it)

Not only do we have one more point already than the 2 "we would have taken" under OFM when faced with Utd and Arsenal away consecutively, but a real barrier has been smashed, possibly changing our outlook as a football club forever.

For the last 11 years, I've been imagining how we could break that duck, what it would take, what kind of performance, what circumstances - and now I know.

Because I know and the squad know, I have every confidence that Anfield will be the next duck we break.... I'm not afraid any more. Why we were ever afraid I don't know.

SIN MIEDO!!!

and big respect to everyone who was confident of the win today, which was about 90% of people on here. That's exactly what we need, that whole attitude from the fans and club building up to the game is what wins you matches such as these.
