Man Utd are on a completely different level to us.

Their current squad cost in excess of £500million and they're aiming for the title, while our squad cost half that and we're aiming for a successive top ten finish for the first time since the 2012/13 season.

Although I will cheer our players to the hilt tomorrow (a mate had a spare ticket), I'm not that bothered about these sort of matches because Man Utd are not our rivals and haven't been for 30 years.

A 2 goal defeat or more will put us in the bottom 3 tomorrow on goal difference.

And a win (as unlikely as it seems right now), would leave us 2 points off 4th. Like imagine somehow we won. You would have to look at coming out of that disaster of a run of fixtures 2 points from 4th as a major success. Despite the bleach fest lately which has been justified. If you'd have said to people we'd be in that position before the season started without the context you'd imagine we'd make a storm for top of the table with the run of easier fixtures to come.

It's a funny old game.

Yes they are, but let's not forget that over the past few seasons we've either beaten them or came close to doing so on numerous occasions.

Today however, the feeling in the mainstay is one of impending doom because of how well they're playing compared to how woefully we are.

The gap between the two has increased hugely and that's what is the most worrying! I'd be delighted with a draw today yet I expect a drumming.

No excuses today, we need the boys to put in a performance. No more BS about our difficult start, Burney have played Chelsea, Spurs and Liveprool away and have come out of those games with points.
