I can't see anything past another capitulation and 2 or 3 goal defeat I'm afraid.

To be fair the fixtures list did us absolutely no favours considering we have half a new team to bed in, but Koeman seems in over his head at the moment and our attitude the last 3 games has stunk the place out.

Worrying times.

Koeman has to be allowed a lot of latitude for the fact that he wasn't solely responsible for bringing in players, and he's had to rebuild the whole side whilst playing two very demanding games a week.i think at the moment everyone is banging on about how we need a big no9 -for the whole team to function properly, the weird thing is we've got one but the manager hasn't been playing him. Dcl clearly can play the role to a good (not great ) standard, just ask Vincent Kompany. But the manager then didn't play him for the next two disastrous games in his correct position. Why not? I suspect to get the Sandro deal over the line he wanted certain commitments that he would actually play and not be stuck on the bench. So far off the pace has he been though Ron has to bite the bullet and drop him.
I also think it's only a question of time before Rooney and Gylfi start to understand each other's game and they will make a difference.
The biggest concern for me is the form of our central midfielders, not even doing the basics properly. I do wonder whether it's because they are a little too proud of their stats ('nobody made more tackles than X last year' well sometimes you need to know when not to dive in), and Morgan maybe is once treating on how he keeps his intercepts stat, and forgets the game sometimes needs to be taken by The scruff of the neck

Wouldn't start Rooney today. Sigurdsson behind Calvert Lewin I think gives us the best (any) chance. Plus Rooney being back at OT, his court hearing tomorrow etc...

Will Niasse make the bench ?
will Kenny start ?
will Rooney play up front ?
will DCL play up front ?
will we play 8 at the back ?

how many will Lukaku score ?

Some interesting but mainly depressing facts from the BBC:
MATCH FACTS
Head-to-head

  • Manchester United have won 18 and lost just one of their last 24 Premier League home games against Everton.
  • The Toffees' record of 33 defeats in this fixture is their worst against a Premier League rival.
  • United could equal the Premier League record of wins against a single opponent, matching their 34 victories against Aston Villa.
  • Both matches last season finished 1-1. There has never been three straight draws between the sides in the Premier League.
Manchester United

  • United are unbeaten in 32 home matches in all competitions, winning 21.
  • They could win their opening three home league matches for the first time since 2011-12.
  • Jose Mourinho's three Premier League titles all came after four opening wins - United drew against Stoke in their fourth game last time out.
  • If Romelu Lukaku scores he will become the fourth youngest striker to reach 90 goals in the Premier League, after Wayne Rooney, Michael Owen and Robbie Fowler.
  • Two Lukaku goals against Everton would make him the first United player to score six times in his opening five Premier League appearances for the club.
  • Henrikh Mkhitaryan has made a league-high five assists this season - no one else managed more than two prior to the latest round of matches.
Everton

  • Everton have only mustered seven goal attempts on target this season, the worst tally in the division.
  • They have only won one Premier League away match in 2017.
  • The Toffees could remain winless in 11 league matches on the road for the first time in 13 years.
  • Ronald Koeman has gone five games unbeaten against Jose Mourinho, the Manchester United manager's longest winless run against any opponent.
  • Koeman could become only the third manager after Pep Guardiola and Diego Simeone to win multiple away matches versus Mourinho.
  • Wayne Rooney is Manchester United's all-time leading scorer in all competitions with 253 goals.
  • Rooney lost all four appearances and failed to score against United during his first spell at Everton.

The Least Disgraced XI available

Pickford
Kenny, Keane, Baines
Gana, Tom
Nikola, Ademola, Kev
Sandro, DCL

Holgate, Jags, Rooney, (unused subs) Bolasie, Coleman, Mori, Stek

Sandro might not be 100% fit yet though.. after that injury the other week. Hope Purplexed Ronny isn't playing him to prove a point about "his players"

Suspect that we'll have most of Martina (or Holgate), Williams, Schneiderlin, Siggy, Rooney.. starting to stop his "losing the dressing room" even more.

Why do we always seem to face a striker who is either on a goalless streak, or one who needs to bag to break a few records. ??
