Best start in 30+ years

Bit better than expected...

Which one them are you afraid of degsy. I'll protect you.
tbh mate, its not the highest of bars.
And it Is a bit better than many expected, given the rs FSW stuff and the fact that there weren't many contenders and those that were in the picture jibbed us off...hows that Nuno going??
I'd assess with 7 left me.

You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done

I was totally anti Benitez.
He's doing a good job so far and If he keeps on doing it, well fair play to the rs Squire of Caldy and I'll doff my cap to him.

One Game At A Time.

Edit; as for being afraid, I could see them off with a balloon on a stick

30+ years is a monumental bar. Anything on this planet that takes 30+ years to achieve is a tall order.

I hear you. I'm not making bold predictions on the season ahead. I would not have been upset with more midtable stuff giving the circumstances and still wouldn't be.

Lol on last point.

To be honest Eggs I thought Benitez was having a go at the way Everton defended at Anfield, not to get beat was Moyes‘s intention in a league and cup game, both close together, although I was happy with both draws. At the time I thought it made Benitez look small and petty, just my take on it, same as United’s manager yesterday claiming United were the better team and should have won among other claims, he looked small with his ridiculous outpourings. It’s football, people make these outbursts right after the game and quite a lot regret opening their mouths the following day. I took Benitez’s “ small club “ claim with a pinch of salt. Every has their own opinion on different matters.
I thought it was funny how upset he was, to be honest.

Not necessarily, it's 7 games in and early days.
He might not be what we wanted, but, as the song says, but he might be what we need.

If the Manager and Team gell together...and they mostly have done so far, you'd have to be super churlish, not to give him and them some early credit.
But like I say its only 7
Not a magnificent 7, more a - not too bad and a bit better than some expected 7.

One Game At A Time.
Good post, mate.

You said it yourself, he was managing the reds, what do you want him to do, praise the blues? Football doesn't work like that, rivalry doesn't work like that. Your talking about a manager who takes pride in his work, in his club, NSNO

…I expect him to talk Football rather than publicly belittling an opponent. It was a cheap jibe, it was a statement that lacked class from somebody managing one of the highest profile clubs in the world. I might be old & I might be old fashioned but that resonated with me & I was disappointed Everton courted him.

Anyway, I’ve had my say & it’s an opinion I would hope is respected on here even if those who amazingly idolise & romanticise about the man disagree.

Thinking about it, I would be very disappointed if he made a similar comment about another team whilst Everton manager. Still found it funny at the time, how much it got under his skin. Hopefully, he learnt a lesson from it.

So, in summary :

He`s still a fat, kopite bellend ?
