I wasn't keen on either appointment, but was happy enough to give a chance to both. I kinda respected Fat Sam in a weird kinda way. He was who he was and utterly unashamed by it. Footie was rife though, but he did a decent enough job with a dog of a squad. But didn't see him as the future, so was happy enough to see him go.

Moonhead... well. Started okay ish, but it became fast apparent he was an utter tit of a man. And a horrific manager who left us saddled with crap. So it's a no from me. Still , a cup win I'd have got a special set of boxers made with his fat swede on.

Carlo let me down the most though.

Yes, I honestly supported them both, I mean I wanted both sacked as a matter of urgency once it went south with Theme Hospital head and wanted Big Sam out at the end of the season but I supported them.

I said when Carlo was here that he was the last manager I was going to support blindly and then Everton signed a manager I really didnt want, as they have for the last 5 appointments, the others I supported, but this fella is a Liverpool legend, a man really gotta have a code.

If you support this team, you support Benitez. They are being constructed in his image.

He's winning me over.. I like how he's approaching things.. we look more committed and fitter than we have in a long time.

…I have no doubt about his worth as a coach, I have never criticised his appointment for that reason. He’s a proper football man, I really like some of the feedback from players.

I haven’t liked any manager since Joe Royle.

Benitez seems a good manager, good organiser tactician and motivator. Until he wins a pot though he’s just another manager.

Managers like players come and go whilst the club and us scruffs remain.

Lads you don’t have to absolutely adore a football manager. He’s being paid to do a job, you’re allowed to just hope he does a good job and acknowledge when he’s done a good job without wanting to marry him. I’m well past the point of putting managers on pedestals and heralding them as some sort of heroes, just do your job lads.

He’s doing a good job so far. We look a much better team than the one that ended last season.
