Our future hasn’t looked so bright in my lifetime and I’m 31 years old. A decent squad with a world class manager who’s done the lot a new stadium which looks beautiful and wealthy backers. I want Everton to go toe to toe with every team in the league no matter who they are.
Man City have better players than us obviously but we can beat them on a good day, make no mistake.

I think we can get a fighting draw today. We do have it in us to beat them, but I don't know... we don't beat better teams away. Hopefully it's a new dawn with Ancelotti and we can put them to the sword. ;)

Think playing 4-4-2 would be suicide here, De Bruyne would simply waltz through the midfield.

Would go for something like a 3-5-2, which drops into a 5-3-2 when defending. Interested to see what Carlo does though.

We will win as long as we keep tight in our defence and midfield areas. We are not conceding goals as much as we did before. Won't be a pretty game of football but three points in the bag is our goal.

Opportunities will come our way as their defence is crap.

tbh, mate I go back to before Carey took his taxi and I feel the same...because before your 31 years, we, like 6 or 7 others were, all things being equal, in with a chance. Post your 31yrs we increasingly fell behind, with not much hope of making up lost ground.
Ancelotti, Moshiri and BMD aren't exactly the last chance saloon...but its close.

Well Degsy you and I go way back and can recall the success back then and the couple of downturns. But right now this is looking good for the future with the staff we have, at last.

Since November they have played 14 games in all competitions. City have drawn against Atalanta, Donetsk and Newcastle. In the same period they have lost to Liverpool, Man Utd and Wolves.

In the same period last season they drew against Lyon and Leicester but lost to Chelsea, Crystal Palace and Leicester. Of course they went on an unbelievable run after that.

However, even though City are not challenging this season, there is not a lot of difference in the Nov through to January results!

Usually it's quite easy to predict an Everton loss here, especially as traditionally we get humiliated on TV.

With Carlo here now it's harder to predict. Tactically we know he can find a way to get a result. It will depend on the current conditioning of our players, there motivation and ability to carry out Carlo's instructions.

They have many players with better footballing abilities than ours. There is no shame in losing this, especially as it's away. It will be the manner in which we play that will be so important for Carlo and ourselves.

I'm guessing we will lose this. However it will not be humiliating. I suspect we may come from behind, show fighting spirit but VAR will undo us and lose us the game.

Once again post match I will gladly apologise if I am shown up!

Couldn’t have summed it up better myself. In fact, I think I might swerve the game!

Would strangely fancy our chances much more if they hadnt been so poor recently.

They will dominate the ball and the midfield, our key to victory will be HOOOOOOF, not an easy task.

I really don't get the telly thing. The rs hammered us yea but then we best Chelsea, drew with United and arsenal. And the Newcastle Burnley games were available to watch for most.
Telly coverage does not determine performances or results.
