Well, the point is it feels like he's rushing him back today.

If he wasn't deemed fit for the squad Vs Wolves on Monday after such a long break, it seems odd then that he's starting today.

We aren't getting anything today so it feels a strange risk to me.
Conversely we are not getting anything today so the pressure is off and he can get a run out without being under too much pressure.

I doubt he will get too tired watching the ball rolling around 50 yards away from him.

If Calvert Lewin wasn't fit to be in the squad Vs Wolves after all that time off how's he starting Vs Man City? ?

I'd have thought introduce off bench Vs Man City and Man Utd to get him starting Vs Brighton.

Ev-er-tooooon.
My thoughts exactly. After another insipid performance it feels like Lampard couldn’t wait to announce Dom was fit, as if it was some beacon of hope that would take everyone’s mind off things.

Feels like we’re risking our best/only striker exacerbating an already troublesome injury for a bit of PR.

I think it's easier get a player ready to start a game then bring one on. More complete warm up, more chance to get a full pre match rub and that. Coming on you don't get the same opportunity.
Give him 60 minutes and off then for me anyway .

Damage limitation this, I always hold the hope we night nick a draw though haha.

I wouldn’t have started DCL in this game, it’s not a game we are going to win so I see no need to rush him back. If he breaks down again today we are finished.

Tough game but this is a chance for the players to show fight and give back a performance to the fans
When does Everton ever give anything back to the fans? Other teams will go with a game plan and have a go, like Brentford, it`s never us and we are never that team that gets the result they shouldn`t....

Rightly or wrongly, I think Frank isn’t naive enough to know for sure that he’s still going to be here for our next match.

Hence starting his best possible players for a seemingly thankless game.

Our tactic is clearly going to be sit deep and knock it long. We might get an extra couple of seconds in possession doing this with Dom rather than Maupay.
