The cup match is now history. The predictable result happened. We were beat. Didn't really think that we would win anyhow. If we had a 2 goal lead , id still not get too carried away. Nothing is over with this Everton team , until.the final whistle. These recent defeats are all so predictable. I really don't have much faith anymore . Supporting this Everton team is draining. Many moons ago , it was a pleasure watching Everton. Not anymore. But I live in hope that those days can return.
Next we play Southampton. I suppose that fixture is a godsend. Would rather that we played Southampton , than having to go away to the likes of Arsenal. But it will only be a godsend if we can win the match. And there it all is in a nutshell. Can we beat Southampton? Who knows.
Can Lampard inspire this team to win this match. Who knows.
Can Lampard maybe for once , play two forwards? Give Ellis Simms a try up front , alongside DCL. Who knows.
Can Lampard go 4-4-2. Get Everton playing on the front foot. who knows.
Can Lampard get our midfield playing like a proper midfield. Who knows.
Can Lampard set up a defence , that can just for once keep a clean sheet. Who knows.
Can Lampard make changes early doors , if things are not working out?

Just drop the ever so predictable dross. And surprise us all , by turning up and playing football on the front foot. Try something unpredictable. Try something different. Try having a few shots from distance. Gray has shown that it can be done. Try passing forwards. Try something. Anything.
