Wouldn't be surprised Kurt, that was shocking from them yesterday and certainly took the sting out of our result.Ole gone apparently ????
Looks that way, an embarrassment of talent throughout the squad but with a manager who has no idea how to use it. There is a fantastic team in there potentially… it just needs the right manager to unlock it.Wouldn't be surprised Kurt, that was shocking from them yesterday and certainly took the sting out of our result.
They're in a far worse place than us when you think of the height of expectancy on them but Ole was a bad appointment from the off and everybody but their board can see that.
Some weird accents about in that end..
I liked Ole as a footballer and he seems a decent guy just totally out of his depth as Old Trafford boss.Looks that way, an embarrassment of talent throughout the squad but with a manager who has no idea how to use it. There is a fantastic team in there potentially… it just needs the right manager to unlock it.
The Glazers couldn't care less. The only thing that matters is the balance sheet, the share price, and if the commercial sponsorship deals are under threat by not being in the UCL. Everything else is irrelevant. The glaziers are in dubai trying to buy an IPL franchise. Probably don't even know the result from yesterday
For years I've often thought Rodgers was biding his time, building up his experience/stock until the United job came up. I think he's a smarter guy than he's made out to be and is all about the long game. I think that's why he was astute enough to distance himself from Arsenal and Spurs when those mid-level jobs came up, and if the United job comes up, I think he's played his post-LFC career well enough to have his name on the shortlist.if they had any sense they should be going for modern day progressive British managers of Rodgers or Potter, but United don't think like that, so they are going for the quick fix self destructive route again.
you're assuming Ole goes first and Woodward snaps him up before Rafael goes and Moshiri has the time to call Jim White and ask for Brucie's phone number ?What the hell are they waiting for. Don't they know Steve Bruce is available?? lol
If you’re in thr away end, rule number 1 is keep your head down and don't make any bother. Nowadays it looks like you have to make a tremendous bellend of yourself and just ruin everyone else's day.Just why is all I can say to that. If you want to watch the match and that's the only way then fine but why you would make a target of yourself is just plain stupid.
Jesus wept, i'm amazed you actually rate Maguire, you are the lone voice here now, and he has raw material's whatever does that mean, the guy is 29 in march. if he's raw at almost 29, wow he is late to the party to start ironing them out when he should have been doing that at 19-21 years old. lol
England had the most easiest of draws to a semi final in the history of the World Cup and still lost 3 matches lol, Panama, Colombia wow such great names, beaten twice off Belgium avoided the rest of the all the big guns and then lost to a nation of 4 million in a semi final, Maguire is awful, who needs the protection of a CB on each side of him, also 2 defensive wingbacks and 2 DMs, the great Dave Watson at 60 odd years old would look decent today in the middle of that set up, isolate Maguire in a flat back 4 and his glaring limitations are all to see that a 6 year old could point out, no pace, poor technique, slow on the turn and his awareness of not tracking players in the penalty area.
It's mind blowing someone at in the United Hierachy actually deemed him fit to sign him as a defensive leader, he wasn't even the best CB at Leicester coming into the World Cup, it was Johnny Evans those seasons Maguire was there and they upgraded Maguire with Soyuncu and started finishing higher in the League, he was signed off that World Cup which as you look back with the run they had they still fluffed the lines and couldn't get a final, also lots of poor defenders have gotten to finals of the Europa League mate, their run to it was easier than the Fa Cup
He should be no where near a team with aspirations of winning a PL and CL, he cannot even play a high line which all the top teams in Europe play, and those top teams all play a flat back 4 except Nagelsman's Bayern who are playing a 3.
Conte as a manager has worked with top tier CB talent in Bonnuci, Skriniar, Chiellini, Bastoni, Rudiger, Azpilicuta and Conte will not put up Maguire in his team after the first summer window, Conte's first course of business at United will be signing quick highline CBs and attacking Wingbacks as United of Shaw and AWB are just awful in the final 3rd and upgrade of the average Mcfred combo, United core of attacking players is pretty good, Greenwood Rashford Sancho Bruno Ronaldo.
I think Maguire is a decent player tbf, as you say, not world class. The thing is, with this poster(and kopites in general), any player not playing for them they are poor players.Yes a lot of interesting view in that.
I think Maguire is good, in fact very good, but probably not world class and 80m is very steep for him (but then United have fallen into the trap of overpaying for a number of players).
England did get a favourable draw, but honestly, England have had favourable draws and made a habit of ballsing them up. He played well in the world cup, and at the Euro's too.
I like him as a defender and would have him here in a flash, but not for 80m if that makes sense? As for the nowhere near a side with aspirations of winning the league, he was a key member of a side that came 2nd last season, so I'm not sure that is true at all.
As for Conte, yes he's worked with top players. He's also made Victor Moses look like Cafu and Alonso look like a peak Roberto Carlos. There are enough raw materials there to work with. The issue is going to be how he fits into the broader "philosophy" of the club, in terms of how they like to promote youth etc.
They probably missed a trick with Tuchel, he feels a better fit for them. Hard to know who else would take it really. I know you like Rodgers, but it feels a big jump to me. He did do well at Celtic though.
I don't think Conte would fit into any of Utd's philosophies other than 'winning'. He's Mourinho 2.0 and will burn the house down if he doesn't get everything he wants and is unlikely to stay anywhere beyond 2 years. On the other hand, put him incharge of that squad, every player goes up a level and I think United might have a title in the bag in those 2 years. So I guess that question is: how long are United willing to wait for another league title?...As for Conte, yes he's worked with top players. He's also made Victor Moses look like Cafu and Alonso look like a peak Roberto Carlos. There are enough raw materials there to work with. As for Conte
The Man U supporting dad and brother of my missus want Ten Haag, they reckon he's a better fit for them, not sure myself.
