Sounds like they want Poch long term.
If they can pry him out of a better job. A win against City on Wednesday puts them in position to qualify first in their group and dodge everything even remotely scary except Chelsea. No comparison between the two rosters right now (though that could change soon enough), and he can afford to focus on the critical cup ties with an aging roster.

If they want him that badly and are prepared to make him a financial offer he can't refuse, they may have to wait until season's end to get him. I don't think they'd be wise to wait that long. They need to turn the battleship, now, to stay in the Champions League. If I were them, I'd make the short term play, swallow the bitter pill and appoint Rodgers. But then, if I were them I'd have sacked Woodward somewhere around 2013.

I Like Ole as a bloke and he was more than a decent player, however I was glad he got the sack purely for his own mental health, without a doubt the job broke him in the end and he had a haunted look about him as Man U capitulated yesterday.

This might be very selfish but I liked Ole as a bloke and a player, but most of all I loved him as Manchester United manager and I wish he would have stayed for my mental health. :)

United players are good quality but unlike the Big Three they haven't had a manager who likes to press, ping it around and score goals from all parts.
I'd say Simeone is the man for them. If only we could get him.
