What do you guys think?

What the [Poor language removed] is that supposed to mean?

Is that some thick football speech or is that some thick football speech.

Sounds like he doesn't know what to say to get clear of the dirt he's accumulated on his name with his shady behaviour this weekend.

He knows he has broken his word and is hoping somehow that it won't be remembered that he has done so. He just want it to go away.

He's talking out of his ass, He was seen at the Blackburn rovers match. He wasn't there to watch his old team play footie now was he. [Poor language removed] him we don't need him...I'll be surprised if he gets anywhere near that Valencia side with Baraja and Albelda ahead of him.

thick, stupid, idiotic, low, typical, [Poor language removed], scheming, cheating, greedy, selfish.

God I could go on all day.

Sounds like he's just a kid who got caught up in a complicated deal and he didn't understand why Everton couldn't just sign on the dotted line.

Ok. Just a different take.

How much of this is down to his agent?

I'd venture that Manny probably wanted to stay but his agent fed him some crap about how the deal won't get done or something rather and started to whisper in his ear about Valencia.

Yeah yeah, the player makes the decisions (kinda like Rooney huh?) but I'd say that this move was instigated by his agent, not by him.

Fair enough, TXBill, but players - especially South Americans - are getting away with murder because they can blame it all on the nasty agent/management company.

Who do you think gets a good percentage of the management company income for that player? Why did they sign up with them in the first place?

he is not 'just a kid'. it's not like a 10 year old trying to decide where to go for his scholarship. he knew full well what was happening with the deal for everton. the buck stops firmly with him as much as you would like to blame any agent.

Sure. I don't want to deflect all of the blame from Manny as at the end of the day, he's the one who makes the decision. He could have told his agent, "No thanks, get the deal done with Everton. I don't care how you do it, get it done NOW" so he's just as involved.

I just think the agent probably moved it that direction.
