We can carry on with the hard working nice guys or move on to the talented world class on their day snides.

Get him on another loan and see if he wants it bad enough.
 
He's got three years on his contract left, but its not like they bother playing him anymore. Should be available for about 5/6 million. Worth anyone's money no?
 

5-6 million barely buys you a decent Championship/lower level Premier League player nowadays, if we could get Fernandes for that it'd be a no brainer. But it's unlikely to happen for a number of reasons, unless we sell anyone I think we'll struggle to raise that.
 
I'm not entirely convinced that Yakubu, Pienaar and Yobo will all be in an Everton shirt come the start of next season. Yaks gotta be worth 10, Yobo 6 or 7.

Of course most of the money would have to go towards a big calibre striker. But finding 5 million for Fernandes isn't beyond the pale surely.

Well they paid quite a bit for him, but what can they expect to get from a player that doesn't make their first team, has been disgruntled and out of favour ever since his agent persuaded him not to join everton and has since failed a medical for another club.

They can play hardball but 5 or 6 million tops IMO. Thing is Fernandes is still going to want to join a big club. We just about fit the bill (from his perspective. thinking in a contemporary sense and with us finishing 8th) Its not like championship side are gonna try and buy him.
 

Had the chance in the past to do the right thing and ****ed us off, I think it is now time for people to move on just like Manny did.
