Manuel Fernandes

Prove it. Valencia eventually signed him for around 12-15 million, how could we have got that type of money aswell as signing Yak? We paid half of that and started discussing some sort of deal with the Premier League and whoever owned him. If we'd have paid what Valencia paid why didn't we get him there and then, that would equal buying out his contract. He was training with is for atleast two weeks and time was running out, it was close the the deadline if I remember correctly.

Very little is known about the situation, Moyes said **** all about it and Irvine even defended Fernandes in one of the programs during that season. All we got was Dominic King's thoughts on the situation and we all know what he was like, a bullshitter of the highest standard.

Maybe Valencia offered him more wages?

But ok, maybe I agree a little with what your saying, the Club wasnt blameless in the deal I admit.

But Moyes has had him on loan twice, both times he said we had an option to buy and both times he sent him back.

Thems hard facts lad.

But he did try and sign him, that's also a fact.

Wages hasn't got anything to do with it, you've got to buy out his contract first. And we clearly didn't, or we'd have had him a good two weeks or so before he joined Valencia. As I said, posters with a limited knowledge of the situation really haven't got the brain to break things down a little. It's the typical Evertonian mentality, blaming the player for being greedy without looking at the bigger picture. People still think the only reason Joleon Lescott left us was for money, laughable stuff.

If Fernandes really did do the dirty on Moyes then do you think he'd have brought him back six months later? It just doesn't add up to me, Moyes doesn't come across as someone who's stand for that type of behaviour.

Surprised hes only 24, you forget how young he was when he was with us.

He got talent but was never consistent for us, he still needs to grow and develeop as a player.

What was the reported fee agreed with Inter in Jan? Anyone know?

Think it was gonna be a loan deal, with a possible future fee.... Could be wrong....

I don't think any fee was reported, except for 0,5 mln for loan.
I've read some Valencia unofficial sites and most people there expect them to get similar money for Fernandes, to what've they earned selling Zigic - 8 mln euro max.
Its worth checking out from time to time - http://loco4losche.com/blogweb/index.php

Cheers mate, the euro weakening may mean sterling should go further in Europe.

So roughly about 6.5 mill.

Hmm a loan with an option could be a good move.

I'd rather have that Banega as well, think he would have been a masterstroke by Moyes. Whats the sitch with him now?

I don't think its gonna happen this time, Valencia will look for cash, not for a loan.
We also had him twice - Moyes should know everything about him, he either thinks he can help us, or he can't.

Banega is going nowhere, unless somebody will throw a silly offer for him. He had a great season and he is one of the players, around whom team will be build.

Banega was ridiculously good last season - I don't think Valencia will be wanting to let him go at all. Fernandes was great the first time around he was on loan for us... not so good the second time - but I'd welcome him back because he's clearly got quality and we could do with a bit more depth in the centre (although we're already very good there).

In every transfer window...the name of manuel fernandes comes up. I think now we are in a position that we may not need to think about him anymore.

Still can't hide the fact that I was soooooooo looking forward to him signing in 2008 when he acted like a bad tit

Treacherous [Poor language removed], hope he rots somewhere.
