There were ownership issues. Plus he was 21 when he joined Valencia. I'm sure their wages were better than ours, not to mention the lifestyle and the promise of Champions' League football. It would be a very unusual player to turn all that down out of loyalty to a club that he was on loan to for 6 months.
Moyes took him back on loan after he opted to join Valencia, so there can't have been any hard feelings there. We're not going to find better quality at that age and price. Having him behind Jelavic with Pienaar beside him would be awesome. If we could get Queresma for the other flank it would be even better. Drools......
So he changed his mind, big deal. He didn't sign a contract and force his way out of it.

Btw I've just read that Quaresma had a huge bust up with the coach in March and has been suspended indefinitely since then, so they're likely to want to get rid of him.

So if you get a job offer and agree to take the job but don't sign a contract, then you get a better job offer with better opportunities paying more money, you wouldn't take the latter ?
And saying he 'didnt apologise' is pointless speculation.

Plus, most people take a handshake or a verbal agreement (ie your word) as the deal being as good as done, it shows the quality of a person not to back on your word. That's just how I live life anyway.

He did apologise on the official everton website there was a video of him doing so during his second spell so all of that is irrelevant. Would be stupid not to sign him if we could but can't see Moyes going back there.
