That's well beyond this squad. They dont have the ability, and more importantly they dont have the heart.

Seldom do I agree with you mate , but I do on this.
Even Ancelotti can't get this lot to 4th to 6th this season. Left far too much to do by that loser Silva.
Just imagine if we had got the points we should have from the losses to Villa , Brighton , Burnley , Bournemouth , Norwich , Sheffield United. Add them to our current total and look where we would be. Never thought I would see a worse management performance than El Fraudo's last two seasons , but he managed it

My point is what DoF's CA has worked under successfully and if he was comparing EFC to RM.

Is that ok wit you @Coggy?

Leonardo at PSG.

"We had lost with Nice but we were second in the league and already qualified for the final phase of the Champions League with a round in advance. We had to play the last match against Porto, the president of PSG and Leonardo came to me and they told me: ‘If we do not win you will be sacked’. They returned on the eve of the game and they repeated it to me. We played well and beat Porto 2-1 but it was not the same for me. Leonardo was my friend, or so I had believed, yet he did not give me any real explanation of why they had treated me that way“.

Personalities clash :coffee:

What are his credentials though? And, will those credentials clash with Carlo Ancelotti, and furthermore, who will win that battle, AND you have factor in Farhad Moshiris wishes? Does he want forever mid table mediocrity while he has is the majority shareholder OR does he want to reach for the stars and take us to the promised land?

You've just laid out why I really only care to look out for, or base anything on, long term tangible goals...not hope or expectations. I've got zero control over Everton so feck that, I'm not going to drive myself insane with personal expectations looming over it...I can do that in my own life. Achieving a singular goal with 100 different factors (unique to your own situation, nevermind others throwing their two cents in) is as much "hit and hope" as it is skill. The school of real science eliminates variables to achieve an outcome and that's easier said than done in the science of competitive sports. So, for me, talk of this and that is white noise when there's been little to no consistency to speak of that revolves around the end product. We go racing, without tyres...fishing, with no bait...walking, with one shoe...painting, with one colour...blahblahblah. How the hell can you even put yourself in a position to achieve anything with zero platform to work from?

Our first goal SHOULD be, IMO, not to be a yo-yo outfit any more, whether it's through an individual season or a decade. The only difference between us and West Ham, Southampton, Stoke etc., when it comes to WTF our purpose is as an entity, is that we've bounced up and down within one league. The end result is still the same though, minus some money. At least you can build on consistency more effectively...whereas we've been doing this for decades:

I don't get that excited about anything to do with Everton because of this. I need something tangible to work with and, until that happens, league titles/cups might as well be Bigfoot. If we were anything but a sporting outfit this adventure would've died a slow death (like so many hobbies do) years ago but we all know whatever the feck "this" is, it lives by different rules. It's been proven all over the world, no matter the culture or sport. The illogical side of my brain which, unfortunately for me, doesn't rule me on a day-to-day basis, is deep fried when it comes to Everton. The only part that's left is that part that keeps me coming back. So, for fecks sake, at least give me some good consistency. I'm basically waiting to enter football rehab here but they're closed.

League titles, cups...hahaha. Hit and hope; just like every other club I might add, even consistent ones. But I need to see consistency before this even enters my brain any more. All hope is gone, only the scientist in the lab remains. A dull life, sure, and why I don't feel the urge to talk about us much. Maybe not talking about us much in this way is my own way of having some consistency with Everton. That and I'm sick of going over the same ol' thing; us being consistently and badly inconsistent.

"Credentials" are out the feckin' door, I'm looking for progress, by hook or crook. Everything else is a bonus. With the rare exception of Blackburn and Leicester it's the clubs that have, or had, this that stepped in to the light at the end of the tunnel. Duncan doesn't have any 'kin credentials when it comes to being a manager but he got results and it's a results business. Would they have held up long term? Who knows, I don't care, it's not in the frame for the time being.

After that it's a matter of how long you'll let things go that determines your short term relationship with Everton. It's a marriage though, so you're better off looking long term.

That's my diatribe for the year sorted...can we talk about music, fit girls, whisky and cars now? It doesn't pain me to talk about them as much.
