We are going to disagree on Delph.

Carlo seems to rate him tho.

Iwobi is the only stinker so far for me, fella doesnt even look like he can play football and we paid big money.

Im willing to admit his mistakes.

Rico, Digne, Gomes, Bernie have all proven their worth, Kean and Gmblammo havent really had a chance to show their worth, Delph was a cheap punt and has been a bit up and down

Brands has spent 92m in his 4 windows here, how can you say hes failed when we could sell Rico alone for that fee?

Which its why its silly to think the powers that be will be reviewing his position, hes doing his job, hes adding value to the squad.

I said we would need 6 very good transfer windows to get the squad where we wanted, as we know he doesnt buy in the winter, but im quite confident we are still on track, big summer coming up for me, not to save his job, but to add the finishing touches to the squad and get it in a position to compete.
Delph is atrocious. He’s already been booed onto the pitch and he’s been directly involved in lost points against West Ham and Newcastle and got away with another huge mistake against Watford.

Brands’ job is not to add value to the squad, his job is to build a squad capable of challenging for the top positions in the league.

I wouldn’t say Bernard and Digne have been successes, either. Digne in particular is having a bad season.

Why should it take 6 windows? Leicester are going to get Champions League the season after sacking their manager.

The excuse making needs to end.

Leicester havent got a massive squad wasting away on massive money and besides, they won the Title a few seasons back, we do not compare to Leicester.

If you dont consider Digne a success its pointless me continuing this discussion really.

‘A few season back’ it was four years ago and they’ve had a number of managers since then. We’ve finished above them every season since that title win, so I’d love to know your crackpot reasoning for why we do not compare to them.

He’s had one good season and one bad season. Hard to deny that.

They’re ok players, nothing more than that. Bernard doesn’t score or assist as much as he should be doing and Digne has been nowhere near the standard he set last season.
No he hasn't reached it but it doesn't mean he isn't a success either, Bernard can do better but he's good for where we are currently.

Stop speaking sense mate.

Same excuses were being made defending Silva - "transition season" "Koemaggeddon" etc.

As you said - 1 good summer 1 bad.

I thought Digne’s low point this season was when a 16 year old Liverpool kid was ripping him to pieces, but he hasn’t used that to improve himself this season.

Having players good for where we are currently is the reason we aren’t progressing as a club.

I mean the whole team was awful that day not sure why you're just picking on Digne.

We spent over £100 million in the summer mate - that summer window was as bad as anything I've seen from Walsh.

I dont worry about the accounts tbh - if Ancelotti wants the money it'll be available imo. Fans didnt expect that £30 million deal from Usmanov which will help us out FFP wise - I expect a few more suprises amongst the next few months and years from USM.

We wouldn't appoint Ancelotti to give him peanuts to spend imo BUT it has to be spent wisely.

Steve Walsh bid against himself to spend £45m on a third CM we didn’t need after already buying out Rooney’s United contract and spending £25m on Klaasen, that in itself was worse than any deal Brands has done

You said he had a good summer last year then proceed to tear apart Digne and Bernard, curious if you think Brands has ever signed a good player.
I rate Richarlison and Mina very highly. Digne and Bernard are ok players who can be good on their day.

Digne has been a big disappointment this season as his levels are nowhere near the same. I think Bernard has continued to be a solid squad player without improving.
