In his interview he seems like he wants to be very hands on with the academy. Anyone think he'll replace unsworth for a U23 coach more in keeping with the style he and the new manager want?

Fair play unsworth won the league the other season, but i reckon it could be time for a change.

dont ask me what i'm expecting, but I think our young players never look ready when they come into the first team. More a gut feeling than anything.

has anyone claimed yet that it will inevitably fail because Brands is Dutch, and Koeman was also Dutch, so we already know that "total football" doesn't work?

it's the last thing I'm missing for Bingo
Aye... in much the same way as Pep would fail in the Premier League

Their bonus scheme is supposed to be one of the best in the league, players have to earn their money not have it handed it to them

See I've always said this is how we should run the club and how any football club should be run tbh. Wages are way too high atm, a salary cap should be brought in and then those who get the greater income will still be able to fend off others by offering brilliant bonus deals.

Footballers are lazy these days, they don't deserve the wages they get, but at least with bonuses the harder workers will climb to the top. It would cut the stupid player power that exists now as well.

All the right noises coming out from the interview but il hold fire before getting excited. Still broken from the the last 6/7 months (and years leading up to it!!)

Imagine him looking over Walsh’s recruitment system. ‘So then he seemed to go to a game and write three lines in his notebook about a player he liked’

But we haven't had that. We have never had a CEO who could successfully produce the goods. However, even under a system like we had where a controlling manager was facilitated by a chairman/owner who committed to giving a manager time if not much cash we finished top five half the season's between 2004/05 to 2013/14.

This DoF role is an unnecessary bureaucratic level we don't require. The organisation needs to be streamlined with less people making major decions and not more.
There is only one man making football decision and that’s Brands
No one will be bought sold or hired or fired for the coaching staff unless he and he alone decides
Or so we have been told

No, no, no. Let's go back to the dark ages where a manager scouts and buys other players as well as trains the first team, works on tactics, scouts other teams, develops tactics against those reports, etc. etc. etc. Because one guy should be able to do that easily.

Why is the D of F such a difficult concept to understand? Virtually every team has one. Regardless, how on earth can someone on one had criticize Farhad for knowing nothing about football, yet on the other criticize him for hiring someone who does to run the football side of things?
Exactly
Moshiri has made mistakes and plenty of them.
But he is big enough to admit them and learn from them.
The fact he wanted Brands from day one tells you he realised he didn’t know enough about the footballing side of things

It's great to feel optimistic again and I like how he reasons behind the scenes long term strategy as that ultimately is what will set us up for the future. Won't happen overnight but he's saying the right things and his past record as a DoF at least is something to give a bit of hope he can do it here also.

Come on Marcel lad shake this club back into shape.

Anyone else think he looks a bit like Martin Freeman.

Watched a Netflix film with him in it last night
